*Julia's POV*
"Finally!" I yell into the phone. "Im so fucking excited!" Kate yells back, "We've been saving for this trip for two years, and now we are leaving in less than 24 hours!" the thought that we are leaving all this shit behind made me so happy. "Dinner!" My mom yelled from the kitchen, "I have to go babe" I say to Kate as I turn off my phone.
"Last dinner." I yell while running down the stairs. My mom stands in the middle of the kitchen with a big smile on her face holding my favourite cupcakes. "I baked your favourite." my mom said while moving the cupcakes beneath my nose as I take a big sniff of the cupcakes, I let out a pleasant sigh and look over at my little sister who was sitting on the kitchen chair smiling, "What?" I say narrowing my eyebrows, "Can I have your room. Pretty please." she started to bat her eyelashes at me. I started laughing at her stupidity. "I'm only leaving for two months," I responded still laughing my ass off, "Idiot." I responded.
After dinner, my mom pulled out a wrapped box, "For you, my lovely daughter." I look at her in confusion, "Why?" I whisper while pulling the box closer to me, "To remember me on your trip, of course." I laugh and open the box, it's a beautiful gold neckless with a golden heart on it. "Mom." I say with wide eyes "Thank you." I say, and she throws her hands in the air and says "Go pack, hun." I look back at her and give her a big hug, then I run up to my room and begin to pack.
