After 1 year

Duchess's POV

They are currently preparing for baby Dia's first birthday. Yes, baby Dia has grown so fast! Duke and I are already 13 years old. While, Prince and Princess are both 9 years old. Ah, how time flies so fast!

The motiff of baby Dia's birthday is red or dark red.

Right now, baby Dia is all dressed up in her gorgeous red dress with black ruffles and paired with black ballet shoes. She's really cute!

I am also dressed up. I'm sure Dia's not gonna let her most fabulous sister to be left out, right? I'm wearing an elegant dark red dress, some jewelries and a pair of black pumps.

Duke's wearing a simple white longsleeves with dark red tie, white slacks and black leather shoes. Princess's is wearing a red above the knee dress and paired with black ballet shoes and Prince's wearing a red polo, white slacks and black leather shoes.

Mom is wearing a red elegant long dress, some jewelries and black heels. While dad is wearing a white longsleeve with red tie, black slacks and black leather shoes.

As I ran down the stairs, I saw the buffet table full of delicious foods and drinks. And a moment later, the guest arrived. We only invited our closest family, friends and some people from Royalle Mafia.

All the people looked so happy! That made me so happy, too. When I turned my back and faced the staircase, I saw them.

Mom, Dad and Dia together with Duke, Prince and Princess walked slowly down the stairs. I smiled at them and they smiled at me back. Dia also waved her small hands. Oh, how cute!

I walked towards them with a happy face on. "Mom, Dad. This party will surely be fun!" I said excitingly towards them. "It will surely be, daughter" Dad said with enthusiasm. "Duchess dear, could you please call Yaya Linda? I need her to carry baby Dia so that I could entertain the guests" Mom said.

"Of course, mom" I replied at mom. She kissed my forehead and wore her sweet smile on her face and signaled me to go. "Thanks, dear" Mom said. After that I went to the kitchen and called Yaya Linda.

After that, the program started. After the program, we started eating. Mom, Dad, Dia, Duke, Prince, Princess and I sat on one table. We ate the food we picked. But Dia only drank her milk. She's still a baby though.

The happiness we are feeling can not be concealed. We just can't hide our extreme happiness. On the table we we're chit-chatting, laughing and telling hilarious jokes. We we're all so happy! After that, Dia needed to change her diaper. "Kids, I'll just go and change baby Dia's diaper" Mom excused herself and we just nodded in response.

We we're sharing wonderful stories. But, we suddenly stopped when one of our security guards came and gave a black box to dad. Dad opened it. He looked so shocked and frightened when he saw the card inside it.

"What does it say, dad?" Duke asked dad. I was going to ask dad about that! Psh. "U-uh its h-hm no-nothing" Dad said. He looked so scared! What's happening?! "Duke, stay here with your siblings. I-I'll just go to your mom" Dad said and rushed upstairs. He left the black box on the table.

"A-ate Duch, wh-what's happening?" Princess said. She looked so confused and scared. I'm scared too on what's happening! But I need to stay strong for my younger siblings. "I-I don't know either, Princess. But, let's just wait until dad comes back, okay?" I said. I hugged Princess and Prince tightly to calm them down.

I looked at Duke. He seemed so curious and at the same time, frightened. He always looks at the box, then, looks at the ceiling and back to the box. Oh, I know that look. He wants to read what's on the box.

"Hey, Duke. I know you want to read that note" Then I pointed at the box with my lips since I was still hugging my siblings. "Yeah. I'm really curious. And I think, something's wrong" Oh, he is really my twin! I feel the same way, too! "I think so, too. They say, curiousity kills the cat. But, in this situation, we need to know what's happening. And don't be scared. Besides, you're not a cat. You won't die, my dear brother" I said and he chuckled a bit.

He picked the note and read it. He looked so shocked and its like he's about to cry?! Oh, no! This is not good! "Duke, what does it say?! C'mon! Tell me!" I shouted at him. He didn't answer me. Instead, he left the note on the table and ran upstairs. Oh my god! What the freak is happening?!

I picked up the note and read it. I was shaking with fright on what I have read.

"If you still want to see your youngest daughter alive, be sure to hand your lives to me.

Queen's POV

Iminulat ko ang mga mata ko at bumangon nang may yumugyog sa akin. Aah! Ang sakit ng ulo ko! Naaninag ko ang mukha ng asawa ko na lumuluha. "A-ah anong na-nangyari?" Tanong ko sa kanya. "Binantaan ako ni Daniel Venom na papatayin niya si Dia kapag hindi ko ibibigay sa kanya ang buhay ko. But, when I came here, you were already unconcious and baby Dia is nowhere to be found!" Nag-aalala niyang wika.

Ha? My brain is still buffering from all the information I'm receiving. Threat? Daniel Venom? Unconcious? Baby Dia's lost?! I finally processed it on my brain.

"King! Find Dia! Quick! I remembered that Daniel's men came and tried to get Dia! I fought them but they're just too strong! Oh my god! I can't live when something bad happened to my baby!" I cried as I utter those words. Hindi ko matatanggap na may masamang nangyari sa anak ko.

"Okay. I'll try to find our child. Are you sure you're alright?" Kalmado niyang wika sa akin but I can feel that he is frightened too. "Yes, honey. I'll be fine. Tell the security to help you find Dia, ASAP" I said as calmly as possible. He kissed my forehead and lips as he went out of the room.

I followed him with my eyes. And there I saw my children who are crying and I'm sure they're really confused on what's happening. I was still crying.

"Mom, w-what's ha-happening? *sniff* W-where is d-dad going? *sniff* W-where's baby D-Dia? *sniff* A-are you a-alright, mom? *sniff*" Sunod-sunod na mga tanong nila. Lumapit sila sa akin. I just hugged them in response to their questions.

I kissed them on their heads one-by-one and said, "My babies. Thank you for staying strong here beside mommy. I love you all so much" They cried louder and hugged me tighter. "Let's just pray that baby Dia will be back, safe and sound"

They're too young to experience these kind of things! Oh, my poor babies! I cried harder when I remember what happened today.

Today was supposed to be a happy day for us. For Diamond. But right now, we receive death threats. Our rival mafia clan is threatening us. My children's lives are in danger. Our lives are in danger.

And most of all, they took Dia.

She is just an innocent child! Why don't they just kill me?! Why do they have to include my family?! Why?! I know what King and I did was unacceptable. But, why do they have to include our daughter?!

I cried louder with my children as I came to that thought.

I think, this is our greatest loss.
