"Yes!" I screamed at 6 AM. The rattling from my controller could've woken up many people. My bed rolled left and right as I jumped up and down in excitement from getting a 20-killstreak in my new shooting game. "Noah!" My mom screamed from across the house.
"Yeah?!" I said, still handling my controller with ease and excellence.
"You've been playing since 5 PM yesterday!" She groaned. I don't really care, I finally got what I was aiming for. The guys at school hated and bullied me for this, but I don't have a life, I play video games for a living and I excel at it. I have good looks, however, so girls are ok with me. Nevertheless, even though I get bullied a lot, I have but one friend, William Parker. He's been with me since 6th grade and we're now in our senior year of High School. Best part is, he's played every single video game with me, too. I guess you could say we were the same, but he plays sports too so he doesn't get bullied like me. "Noah, for the love of god! Its time to get ready for school!" My mom screamed once again from across the house. She screamed so hard, though, that I jumped a bit and fumbled with my controller, getting killed in my game. "Damnit!" I yelled. I turned off my game and went to take a shower. As I passed my mother's room I heard her mutter "good."
"Good, my ass." I muttered back in frustration as I got in the tub. I like to take scalding or freezing showers and pretend that I'm a character in my games, immune to temperature. When I was done, I got dressed and left. I took my handheld games with me, also, as it was necessary for me to play during the commute. Walking to school when it's nearby is probably the hardest part, as I meet everyone from school. "Geek!"
"Digital Retard!"
"Inept 'Superhero'!" They said. Some even through stuff at me. Most times food and drinks, even footballs and baseballs, but for the really devoted bullies, I've been thrown broken game disks and broken phones. Some people really hate me, huh? I don't know what that's about, I have never wronged anybody. Nonetheless, people act like I have. The only place I really feel like home is in my Video Game club. I can be myself with a bunch of other geeks there. Somehow, I have a girlfriend, but I don't like being around her in public so as to not embarrass her or make her get bullied, too.
Well, enough about my former daily life. Today, September 9th, 2020; the first day of my senior year in High School; is the day where my life changes. It was just a normal first day: Getting used to being with the people in your classes, teaching the new freshmen what high school is about, etc. After school, William and I split paths as he went to go ask out a girl after walking her home. So I decided, why not do that, too? I walked Jessica, my girlfriend, home, too. "Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked me on the way home.
"Yeah, its our last year here, anyway." I responded. She agreed and leaned on my shoulder all the way there. I kissed her goodbye when we got there and I was on my way. From my pants, I heard my phone vibrate. I checked it. iMessage- Will: hhhgaibajebid. I had no idea what that meant, so I guess he accidentally butt-dialed me.
*tzzz* damnit, Will, get off your phone. I checked it and this time it was a photo. I looked closely, it was blurry, but I could make out a gun and an alley. Sh*t, Will's in trouble. Where is he? I analyzed the picture, and realized where that alley was. I know that place, that was were I first got rejected! I could never forget. I put my phone somewhere it wouldn't fall out and ran half a mile to the place. I might've been a geek but I wasn't out of shape. Panting and sweating, I had made it into the alley. I looked around the corner to see what I was up against. I saw just one guy in a hood and mask aiming a gun at a completely terrified William. I knew I wasn't gonna win but I couldn't let William die. "Empty your pockets!" Yelled the mugger.
"I don't have anything!" Screamed William. The mugger put his index finger through the trigger and his face relaxed. He's about to shoot. Without saying anything whatsoever, I ran towards the mugger and jumped on him, struggling over the gun. He threw me off and picked up the gun which had fallen on the floor. He aimed it at me, and I heard a loud noise. Oh, I''m dead. Wait, this doesn't hurt. Instead of feeling endless pain where I was shot, a big burst of fire came out of the so-called wound which was itching. It tickled somehow, and I laughed like an evil maniac who could eat bullets. I got up, and smoke were coming out of my hands. I'm a video game character now. This is going to be an ongoing story with different video games as chapters. Comment the video game the next chapter should focus on.
