When I woke up, I was shocked for a bit. I had fallen asleep on the couch with P wrapped around in my lap.

My watch said it was a Sunday, and around 9 o'clock. Thank God it wasn't a work day because I know I would've been late for my job at The Central Park Zoo. I was a tour guide there, and I had found my ID in my wallet last night when I was looking for my address. I seemed to be forgetting stuff yesterday, but today I was totally on track.

I lifted P up, putting my two arms on opposite sides of his little coiled body so he was sort-of stable and placed him on the patch of cushion next to me. He stayed asleep, but on my way to my bedroom I turned around to see him following me.

Once I was in my bedroom, I resisted the urge to lay back down and fall asleep and form my clothes out. I turned my Bluetooth speaker on and started playing some Britney Spears while I took a long, hot shower to wake me up. I massaged my scalp with my shampoo. It always felt so good to have clean hair.

Once I was wrapped in towels, I emerged from the bathroom and put my clothes on. I wore a floral shirt and skirt, showing a little bit of my belly because they we're separate. I grabbed a small, white clutch and hooked Sheriff up to his thin leash and started to the elevator after locking my apartment door.

We went down to the lobby, where there was a Keurig, so I could brew some tea. When we got to the lobby I waited behind a couple to use the machine, but the water had already been heated so it went fast. I put a lid on my cup and exited the building, excited to go for our morning stroll.

I walked down the sidewalk, crossing the street at the appropriate times in the crosswalks. Every couple minutes a cute dog would come and I'd pet it and we'd continue on. P doesn't like Sheriff at all, so I like him to get as much socialization as he can. Eventually, I'll get another dog or cat. Maybe even both.

I passed this woman. Her hair was a deep dark red and cut short, buzzed on the sides and curly crazy-time on the top. She's wearing a purple beanie and an all black dress and purple sunglasses. She smiles at me, then keeps walking. I eventually have to turn around because there was an accident at the crosswalk that I was going to cross. The woman, who looked to be about 26 like me, passed me again, but this time she stopped to say something to me.

"Hey, love the skirt! Who's it by?" She asked.

"Haha, thanks. I got it at Kohls. What's your name, little guy?" I ask, referring to the little puppy she had.

"He's Scitch, my little buddy. I got him couple months ago, but he's growing so fast!" She said. "I'm Vici, like ch," she said.

"Pretty name! I'm Sylvia," I said, "Can I get your number? You seem really cool!" I asked, and handed her my phone.

"Sure! You too," she said and handed me her phone. Her case was a lot prettier than mine, and probably a lot more expensive.

"There ya go," I said enthusiastically. We swap phones. She shoots me a smile, almost flirty, and walks off.

Woah. I never make friends. Must be Sheriff. He's cute.
