Lina wanted to cringe and whine. The same word went round in her head teasing her and she didn’t know why but she disliked the word, the word Aluna. It made her think of her parents dying and it made her think of her guardian angel, and she hated it and she didn’t understand why.

“What do you mean I’m the only one?” Lina questioned

“Well I’m guessing you have a link with her.” Sirge explained

“Why do you think that?”

“Because when you were attacked by Ralf” that name made her shiver “Aluna saved you.”

“Sorry, what did you say?” Lina said though she didn’t need to be told twice. Her brain stopped for a moment storing out her thought the she realised it her ‘guardian angel’ was this Aluna person who she was meant to find. This thought made her dislike her even more. Was she meant to find Aluna because Aluna saved her a couple of times?

‘Well I never asked for her help so I’m not giving her any’ Lina thought, ‘I know I’m being selfish, why am I being selfish, what have I got against her?’

“Lina? Are you alright?” Sirge said bring her out of her reverie.

“Oh yeah, just thinking about some things.” Lina replied, “Alright if you want be to find- her” she said choking over her name and setting for her, “then explain two things, one, what is this link thing? two, how am I meant to find her?”

“Good point,” Sirge started “well a link is generally a magic link, in your case your source of magic I believe is shared with Aluna.”

“No, I’m still confused” Lina interrupted

“Hold your horses”

“I can’t they’re in the greenwood stables” Lina said bluntly, and Sirge rolled his eyes.

“You second question was how you are meant to find her simple you use your magic.”

“I said explain, not state” Lina interrupted again, but Sirge did not comment.

“As I told you Aluna supposedly died in that fire, but I don’t believe this is true, when Aluna disappeared she severed her magic links.”

“What are magic links?”

“They are the connections of magic between people, it’s hard to explain but when people disappear others can find them but following their magic signature also known as magic links.”  Lina nodded, she was started to get it.

“Aluna severed her magic links so no one can find her, there is no way to find her except you.” Lina could have sworn there felt like there was a thousand eyes on her she felt like everyone was putting their hopes one her.

“Maybe she doesn’t want to be found?” Lina suggested

“Of course she does!” Sirge said happily

“Okay saying she does want to be found why am I the only one who can find her if there is no way of tracking her?”

“Because you are her last magic link, the magic link that was not severed in the form of your magic source, you have been using Aluna’s magic, the cure spell which saved you from being turned into a vampire was her magic.” Sirge explained

‘Great more debts in her favour’ Lina thought, now getting very pissed off.

“So will you help?” Sirge asked. Lina really wanted to refuse and return to being normal and plain Lina not super magic link Lina, but then she thought better of it. Even if she turned him down, more would come if this Aluna was so need, also compassion kicked in. she felt sorry for this fallen kingdom, the thought of them trying to fight back but because they had no leaders they were disorganized and easily won. The fact was she was too nice and gave in to helping.

“Okay, I will help you find,” she paused at the name, “Aluna, one question how do I find here.”

“Simple, magic.” Sirge said as if it was obvious.

“If you haven’t noticed I can’t use magic, well apart from cure.” Lina stated with a duh factor.

“We will work on that as we go, come on!” Sirge seemed to be bouncing off the roof at the fact Lina had agreed to find Aluna. He opened the door for her and the walked the long way back until they got back to where they had arrived.

“How do we get out of here?” Lina whispered still unsure how they got in.

“Simple we teleport,”

“What is it with you and simple?”

Sirge shrugged “let’s go” he pulled out the picture book and a bright light burst out of it. Lina looked at it more closely this time and thought the book she saw a picture of outside the stables where they had teleported from before. She was swallowed by the light and felt like she was being pulled until the feeling stopped.

She heard speed whickered behind her. She turned round gratefully and hugged him.

‘Where did you go?’ she heard him say

“Don’t worry about it” Lina answered and Speed nodded his head then trotted out into the field.

The next thing Lina noticed was it was dark.

“Wow, it’s late I should get home.” Lina said giving a pathetic smile still not believing she had agreed.

“Yeah, I’ll walk you home; don’t want those vampires coming back.” Sirge pronounced and Lina nodded back.

They walked in silence and the air gave off an eerie feeling. Lina stopped she still wanted to know about him.

“Who are you really; I won’t find Aluna unless you tell me.”

“ fine I’m-”

Lina never found out because just as he was about to answer he was hit on the head and collapsed to the ground, next thing she knew she was down there too.
