Coffee For Two

I wake up to the sound of my alarm beeping. I slowly opening my eyes realizing there is someone laying beside me. I look behind me and it's just Corbin breathing into my ear. I pry his arm off of me and quietly walk to the bathroom for a shower. When the hot water hits my skin, tingles shoot through my body.
What was that dream about? Do I really have feelings for Corbin? I mean there's no way. I like Logan and I'm meeting him for coffee today but then I did sleep beside Corbin last night. Ugh, I don't know.
I hear soft tapping on the door, turning the water off to make sure I wasn't going crazy.
  "I need to potty!" Levi whines through the door.
  "Ok buddy, give me two seconds." I reach for a towel wrapping myself and opening the door. He looks up at me with sleepy eyes, hugs my leg, and goes straight for the toilet. I chuckle and kiss him on the top of his head before going to my bedroom. I look into my moms bedroom to check on her. She is sound asleep with a peaceful smile on her face. I smile to myself. My mom is a strong woman for everything she has been through to support me and Levi. I couldn't thank her enough.
   I search through my closet for something casual but nice to wear. I decide on a white t-shirt, denim skinny jeans, and my black out converse. I put my hair in a ponytail with a French braid on the side. I dab on a little mascara and eyeshadow. I smile in approval with myself. I slowly walk in to my moms room.
  "Mom, mom, I'm going out for coffee with a friend. I'll be back before noon to watch Levi." She nods her head and rolls away from me. I notice Corbin is gone when I reach the living room. He left a note.
I went on home A. Text me if you need me to help with Levi again.

Thanks for staying with me last night. I've never slept that good in a long time.

A blush creeps on my face with the last sentences he wrote. I set it back down and lock the door behind me.

I arrive at the coffee shop, I step out of my car and the air smells like rain. I groan and walk inside. I order a cup of black coffee and find a table by the window. I'm messing on my phone when the door opens and Logan walks in. He searches the room until his eyes land on mine. I look away blushing. He smiles and walks over.
"Good morning" he says brightly. I smile
"Morning, you going to grab something to drink?"
"Yeah, one second." He walks over to the counter. I stare out the window as it starts to sprinkle.
Good thing I wore my hair up.
He returns a few minutes later and sits across from me. We sit there in silence, not knowing what to say.
"So uh, tell me about yourself?" He asks.
"Oh well, I don't really talk about my past. I mean, my mom works two jobs to help support me and my little brother Levi. I'm searching for a job."
"What about your dad? Does he have a job?"
"He did but uhm he died. He got in a wreck a few years ago. Instantly killed him on impact" I sheepishly say looking down.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know. I shouldn't of asked."
"It's ok, you didn't know." I share a small smile. I look down at my coffee before taking a drink.
"What about you?" I ask.
"Well, I help my dad on the weekends at his company. He runs the Power Plant. My mom is a teacher at the lower school. I have a little sister who is 10."
"That's nice, well I need to get home." I frantically grab my stuff but it's too late.
"Hey Logie" she says kissing his cheek and trying to slide in to his lap. "Why are you sitting with this girl. You're mine." Sending me a glare. I hold my hands up in surrender.
"No worries, I was just leaving Natalie." I grab my things standing up. I'm at the door and Logan is trying to get my attention.
"Screw off." I walk out the door in the pouring rain. I sprint to my car.
I'm such an idiot. I swear him and Natalie broke up months ago. He seemed so in to me.
I put it in reverse and head home. I'm all ready done with this day.
