Hollers! So here's another upload. Yes, a bit late and kinda (very) short. But if you hadn't read my new story (which you should at least read, even if at the end you completely hate it) stated that I had recently started school... Bleh! On the bright side, I get to see my friends that I don't really hang out with outside of school... So here it is. I don't know when I'll end this story. I'm hoping I can do about 30 chaps, but we'll see how things play out :) Enjoy!

“What do you want?” Leah demanded, looking more annoyed than mad.

“Nice to see you too!” I grinned.

I had suddenly appeared at her house the next morning. She obviously wasn’t ready for school yet, dressed it pajama pants and a loose Tshirt. Even so, she looked damn gorgeous.

“School?” I reminded her.

She faked a cough. “I’m not feeling well,” she fibbed.

I raised an eyebrow. “Um, no you’re not.”

“Who’s at the door?” a person asked from inside. It sounded like Tammy.

“Oh, no one,” Leah shouted back.

“Lee, if you’re going to skip school, we should do it together.”

She turned back to me to give me a look that obviously said, “Are you kidding me?”

I raised an eyebrow, waving my hand around my face. “Does this face look like it’s kidding?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. The ugliness of it all is too overbearing to focus on anything else.”

“Right,” I scoffed. “Come on, if we’re going to skip, let’s go somewhere fun!”

“Look bud, I’m not going to hang out with you. Just go.”

Suddenly, I noticed that she had been hiding her other hand behind the door. I raised an eyebrow.

“Who are you talking to?” a voice asked.

“I said no one!” Leah shouted.

She turned back to me, her eyes suddenly pleading. “Just go.”

“What happened to you?” I asked, nodding towards the arm she had hidden.

“None of your business,” she snapped. “Look, I’ll say this once more. Just go. School will be starting soon.”

I shook my head. “What happened?” I repeated.

Stubbornly, she shook her head. She attempted to slam the door in my face before I stuck my foot in to prevent her from doing so.

Fed up, I pulled on the arm that she didn’t hide, and yanked her out. Caught by surprise, Leah only let out a small squeak and didn’t give much of a fight.

She hid the arm behind her, looking away. Worried, I stared at her, sensing pain.

“Leah?” I asked gently. The corners of her eyes were gathering wetness. She sniffled, pulling away.

“I’m fine,” she said. “I don’t need mutts like you to look after me.”

I laughed without humor. “I’ll always be here,” I said. “Even if you push me away a million times.”

Gently, I grabbed the arm she was hiding and pulled it forward.

Shocked, I saw a huge bruise on her forearm. It looked like someone grabbed it really hard. I looked to Leah’s face and tears ran down it.

Possessively, I started shaking. Who dares hurt her?

“Who?” I asked darkly, surprised by the way my voice changed suddenly.

Leah wiped her eyes and took a step back. She was back to her icy self.

“School should’ve already started,” she said. “I should go and you should too.”

She started to turn away but I wasn’t having any of it. I pulled her back and slammed my lips onto hers forcefully. Out of shock, she gasped. I took the initiative to enter her mouth them, savoring every corner of her. Wishful thinking or not, I felt her softly shudder, which made me intensify the kiss, pouring every feeling I had into the kiss.

Too quickly, she pulled away, looking flushed in the face. She seemed appalled by her actions of returning the kiss. Without word, she fled back into the house. I stared after her, my heart beating so fast.

Now I know how it feels with your mate. It’s a whole new, different feeling. It’s like having your first kiss when really, you’ve had at least a hundred. As sappy as it sounds, nothing compares because being with your mate just feels a hundred times better.

Progress? Yes-sir-eee!!!! Yay for Jed, yes?
