Lillian woke up to her alarm going off, she jumped from her bed and ran around her room in an attempt to get ready. As much as Lilly wanted to, she couldn't skip school another day. Lillian stripped down from her previous clothes pulling new ones on and a newly made crown onto her head. Lillian rushed to the bathroom, put toothpaste on her toothbrush and ran back to her room brushing her teeth. Lilly grabbed her bag and pulled shoes onto her feet with her toothbrush hanging out of her mouth. Once she was finally ready, Lillian pulled her backpack onto her shoulder and made her way back to her bathroom to wash out her mouth. Lillian closed the bathroom door behind her as she walked out and made her way to the front door, pausing to hear if her mother was already up and making dinner for her brothers. Lillian listened to the silent sleeping house before opening the front door and walking out of the house.
Lilly walked down the street and took a few rights before arriving at her bus stop. Lillian stood there looking around as she waited for the bus; a few other kids made their way up to where she stood waiting either beside her or behind her. Lillian stood silent, listening in on the different conversations that happened around her; she didn't bother butting in or striking up her own conversation. Instead Lillian stood there nervously tapping her foot and biting her lip. What felt like an hour later, the bus pulled up to their stop. The doors creaked open as Lillian and her other classmates climbed up the steps and down the aisle way of the bus. Lilly sat somewhat in the middle, sliding all the way to the window and putting her bag beside her to block anyone from sitting there. She glanced this way and that every few minutes, before staring out the window for the rest of the ride.
When the bus finally screeched to a stop. Lillian pushed herself up out of her seat, grabbing her bag and throwing it over her shoulder. Lilly waited for someone to let her go in front of them, before merging into the aisle and making her way off of the bus. Lillian rushed to the front door of the school and made her way inside like she had two days ago. As she walked down the hallway, she tried to think of which class she was supposed to be in before finally realizing she had to go to English. Remembering that Oliver was in her class, Lillian stopped in her tracks. Lilly closed her eyes before taking a deep breath and beginning to make her way to her first period.
Lillian walked up a flight of stairs past others and down a hallway before reaching her class. She passed through the threshold and into the class, being greeted by Mrs. D'allesio as she passed her teacher's desk and sat down at her own. Lilly pulled out her homework from two days ago and put it out on her desk, looking it over to make sure she had completed it. Lilly stood up from her desk and gave Mrs. D'allesio her finished homework.
"Uh- do you have any of the work I missed yesterday?" Lillian asked. Mrs.D'allesio took a few seconds to respond, before beginning to search her desk.
"Oh! Yes I do, thank you for reminding me," Mrs. D'allesio responded before taking out a group of papers clipped together with a paper clip and handing them to Lilly.
"Thank you," Lilly whispered back and sat back down at her desk, looking over the different worksheets and taking out a pen to begin on of the papers before class began. Lillian's eyes scanned the paper, writing things here and there in the blank spaces that occupied the page and marking different grammatical mistakes.
"Oh hey! Look who decided to come to school today!" A voice echoed, Oliver jogged over to Lillian's desk distracting her from her work. Lilly's cheeks lit up, her hand almost jutting up to her mouth. She began biting her nails, as she looked up at Oliver who smiled down at her.
"Hey," Lillian muttered, her hand dropping from her mouth. She began biting her lip and attempted to straighten herself out in her chair.
"How did you like the flower?" He asked, giving Lillian a wink which caused her face to turn an even redder color than it already was.
