"Black or blue?"
My best friend, Kiandra, bit her lip as she contemplated which dress would suit me best.
We were getting ready for the last party before summer officially came to its end.
I hadn't really cared to go to this party but Kiandra insisted.
"It's our final night before we are seniors," she had said a few days ago while we were on the phone.
"I don't think a party is the best way to enjoy our final night as juniors in high school," I argued.
Shouldn't we go skinny dipping or do something legendary instead? Not that I would actually prefer to do any of that but I figured if we were going to do something it might as well be something completely crazy.
Yet here we were with a face full of make up, wearing high heels, and short skin-tight dresses.
I settled on the blue dress because Kiandra said it brought out the blue in my eyes and it did.
Kiandra was a make up artist and she had done wonders to my face. I looked so different. My eyes were smoked out and I was wearing false lashes and every time I blinked I could feel the tiny little hairs.
I had to admit I really liked how I looked though.
I felt powerful and confident.
"Oh the power of make up," Kiandra sang as she applied one last final coat of mascara.
Her eye lashes were long enough that she didn't need false ones.
Her long, blonde hair was pinned back and curled at the ends and her lips were a shade of red. She wore a black dress that accentuated her curves and made her look that much more like a model straight out of a magazine cover.
I had long, brunette wavy hair that reached my butt as I wore it down. My eyes were brown but not a dark chocolate brown. They were light and looked fairly pretty in the sun.
"Are you ready?" She asked and I nodded.
"I'm so excited," She said. Our heels making a clicking noise with every step we took. There were a couple of people a few steps behind us probably making their way towards the party just like us.
The house was only a block away from Kiandra's house which is why we decided to walk. The music filled the air and within a few minutes we were surrounded by cars and large crowds of people swarming their way inside the massive house.
I noticed how just the driveway was long and spacious enough to fit atleast twenty cars. If this was the outside, I couldn't even imagine just how the inside must look.
"Wait until you see the inside," Kiandra said, reading my mind.
We made our way inside, pushing our way through the clutters of people. When we found an empty space in the living room where people were dancing and swaying to the music, some of them drunk out of their minds.
"Who's house is this?" I shouted through the music.
Kiandra pointed to a group of guys standing near the staircase. "The one in the white shirt, his name is Owen Richards. Carter Anderson is the one wearing the blue collared shirt and the other one is Gavin."
Gavin's eyes searched the room until they landed on Kiandra. He smiled and said something to the rest of the guys.
"Hey you made it!" He said when he reached us.
Kiandra's face broke out in a huge grin. "I told you I would be here."
The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds in silence before Gavin spoke. "Can I get you two anything to drink?"
