Chapter Two
Caden's POV
I was put into Plover High School by my father. He told me that it would be a good idea to meet my partner in the spy agency. My father told me that I was going to be a spy when I was thirteen. I had that many more years to prepare than my partner. My father said that she doesn't even know about the spy agency.
I just had to be paired up with an ammeter. She knows nothing about being a spy! With all the spies that could have been chosen, they had to chose her.
It was decided since we were born. Now, seventeen years later, I am probably the best spy ever. You would think that being the daughter of the head of the whole spy agency, that she would have been practicing spy techniques her whole life, but no. She doesn't even know one thing about being a spy.
I'm so glad that we are aloud to listen to our iPods while we run the mile. It tunes out all the girls sighing and the 'he's hot' comment. If only they knew that I heard them. They thought my iPod was on full blast. Nope. It was paused. Haha. I got annoyed, so now it's on full blast.
Running the mile really helps me think. Whoa, there she is in all her glory. No sarcasm inserted. When I first saw her, I thought she was beautiful. Her, long reddish ginger hair framing her perfectly freckled face, decorated by her strikingly beautiful green eyes.
Shut up Caden! Seriously, she's probably a girly girl that would scream if she broke her nail. I laughed to myself.
Wow, seriously? She's walking. She's probably only on her first lap out of four, like all the other girls. The boys were almost all on the second or third lap. The ones on the second were talking to the girls. I rolled my eyes. It's getting graded dumbos! Wow.
I'm on my last lap, my time will probably be the best. I decide to slow down to talk to her. Maybe she's not that bad. I slow down, but she doesn't notice me. She's listening to her iPod.
"Hey." I say, walking next to her. She sees me, and turns down her iPod. "Hey." she answers, looking at her iPod. "So, what's your name?" I ask casually.
"Like you care." she shoots at me. Wait, what did I do. I stop her, and put my hand on her shoulder. Either she's a really good actor, or she doesn't like me. Wow, that's weird. Almost all the girls like me.
"Robin." she answers, flatly. "So, Robin, what lap are you on?" I ask. I bet she's on the first or second.
"I'm done." wait what?! No, I must be hearing things. Seeing my shocked expression, she repeats,"I'm done. I'm walking it off now. I feel bad that all of you still have laps left, so I just keep walking until you guys are done." she explains.
My jaw is now on the ground, and my eyes are wide. She smirks ,"You didn't think a girl could beat you, did you?" she asks, smugly.
Dang this girl is awesome. She's hot, she can run the mile faster than I can- still shocked. What else can she do? Wow, maybe she could be a good spy. But definitely not better than me.
I jog away, and finish my last lap. I tell coach my time: 4:26. I leaned over and peeked to see what Robin's time was. My eyes flew down to Robin Brown: time: 3:00.
No way. There is no way on earth that a girl can ran a mile in three minutes. That mean she probably has "walked it off" for maybe two laps. No way.
I walked around the track once, my brain still fried. When I got back, a couple people were finishing their last lap.
I saw a blonde girl skip off to Robin. I wonder who she is. "Okay class, let's head back to the locker rooms and change!" everyone turned and headed to the school.
Chris came up to me. "Hey man, what was your time?" he asked. We became friends, probably best friends, when I got to school.
"4:26." I reply, but not with my usual smirk, because Robin had beat me. Ugh.
"Dang, that's probably the best score out of everybody!" he said, amazed at my time. "Robin got 3:00." I sighed. "What?! No way. She's a girl, she couldn't have gotten three!" he argued.
"No, she got three. I checked the paper."
"But how come when we run the mile, I always see her walking?" he asked.
"Well, she said that she finished, and felt bad that everyone still had laps, so she walks until almost everyone is done."
"No way." Chris muttered. We looked over at her, to
see her talking to the blonde girl. " Who's that?" I ask Chris. "The girl that Robin is talking to? That's Destry, her best friend, and my sister. They have almost very class together, and they almost never leave each others side."
Oh, okay. "So, what do you have next?" Chris asks.
"Literature." I reply.
"Me too." Chris says.
After we changed, we got our backpacks and went to our class.
I hope the classes here aren't too boring.
I walked into class and saw who I guessed was the teacher. Dressed up in a pencil costume.
Well, I guess my classes won't be boring after all.
I noticed everyone sit in their assigned seats, so I just stood by the teacher's desk, and waited.
"Hi, you must be Caden Stone, our new student. I'm Mrs. Cille. Go ahead and sit next to Chris." She said, with a warm smile.
She was young, with short blonde hair, soft blue eyes, and awesome red rectangular glasses.
I could feel all eyes on me as I walked to my seat.
"Okay my students, we will be reading a new book. I hope you will like it."
She pulled out the book from behind her back. She smiled cheesily and held it up.
I could hear a couple if groans from the guys, but almost all the girls were smiling. I heard a "yes!" from the back of the class, and turned to see who it was.
When I saw it was Robin, I smirked. She saw me and mouthed "what?". As in "what, I can't like Pride and Prejudice?"
I didn't mind reading Pride and Prejudice. I've read it before. I wanted to see how advanced I could get at reading books with "big words" in it, when I was little, so I pulled it out of a bookshelf in our house. It was probably my mom's bookshelf... Oh well.
Mrs. Cille handed out really cool notebooks for everyone to write a summary of each chapter in.
"Oh, I have something for you Caden." Oh no! She interrupted me from a chapter in the book that I already read! How will I ever survive?! Note the sarcasm.
She went to her desk and picked something up. She walked over to my desk and handed me something in a case. Whatever it was was pretty thin, and the case was black. I slowly unzipped it and opened the case.
My eyes almost popped out of my head. No way. There is no school on earth that would ever in their many years of existence ever give a student an iPad.
I rubbed my eyes to check if I was hallucinating, but no. There it was, an iPad for me.
"Each student gets an iPad to use in their studies. Most students take notes with it and write their papers on it. You still have to write things out, like your chapter summaries, but the iPad is a tool to help you. You are aloud to buy apps to play on, but all games are locked until the last bell." Mrs. Cille informed.
Wow I love this school.

Ok, I don't know the fastest time for running the mile, so...... Whatever. Yeah :]
