Today was my first day of school. Yay, I'm the new kid. Note the sarcasm. Today, I was forced to pull my bangs up. "It will make you more approachable and cute," said my grandmother as she tied it up side ways. She was worried I might not make friends or fit in at school if my hair was left as it usually is. As expected, Tooru, along with Natsuno walked me to the bus stop.
"You look cute today Arisu-chan," the blonde haired male greeted me.
"Thanks," was my reply. I haven't been feeling well lately and I wasn't really looking forward to school. On the outside, I appeared healthy and fit but on the inside, I knew something wasn't right. They showed me around and introduced me to other students. Well, it was Tooru who did most of the talking and stuffing. It wasn't much of a big school since there weren't much students. The high school had only three 2nd year classes, I'm not sure about the other year levels. Unfortunately for me, I ended up in the same class at Megumi, even worse, I had to sit next to her.
"Hello there," I turned to see a red haired guy with green eyes wink at me.
"Hi," I replied.
"My name is Hikaru and may I ask what your name would be?" He asks as he grabs my hand. Instinctively, I snatch my hand away and poke his forehead with my finger.
"Stay 30 centimetres away from me," I say.
"Huh, not every girl falls for your so called 'charm' Hikaru," a girl with long wavy black hair tied in a high ponytail walks towards me smiling. "Don't mind him, he's like that with every girl."
"Either he's a total flirt or he's just desperate," I add on.
"Tell me about it, he reeks of desperation," she laughs. The red head falls on all four and weeps to himself.
The girl introduces herself to me. Her name is Kimi. Overall, my classmates were okay except for Megumi who kept treating others like they were lower than her. The girl has no friends at all, except for a few snobby high-middle class girls. I received glares from them when I was with Tooru and Natsuno, though I dismissed it.
Everything was okay, until it was lunch time. I had gone to the girls bathroom to freshen up when Megumi and two other girls cornered me.
"Well if it isn't the monster," Megumi said spitefully.
The other two, one with long strawberry blonde hair with a fringe and bright pink eyes and the other with dark purple hair tied in a side ponytail that made her blue eyes stand out, glared at me.
"Can you believe she touched Natsuno-kun?" the blonde hissed.
"Yeah, what a slimy witch," added the other.
"Oh no, this thing is more than a witch. She's a monster and you better stay away from Natsuno-kun. He doesn't belong to you," Megumi warned.
I looked up at them, since they were taller than me. Honestly, I didn't know what to make of this situation.
Should I be mad and beat them up?
Laugh at their spiteful and immature behaviour?
Torture them and make them beg for forgiveness?
Ignore them and pretend it didn't happen?
Be sarcastic and treat them like the idiots they are?
They kept bickering and glaring at me.
I laughed at their demeaning behaviour. "You hear that? It's the sound of three annoying banshees blabbing on and wasting my time." I leave them fuming in there. For the rest of lunch time, I hung out with Kimi. She was fun and cool. She was smart, athletic and very tomboyish. She was like a good combination of brains, brawn and beauty.
"So where are you from Arisu-chan?" she asked with curiosity. I was sitting with her and her group of friends.
"Canada," I replied. They all looked at me.
"Canada?" They all repeated.
"No way but you're so fluent in Jap," Kimi said
"Well, my parents has this rule in of speaking Japanese at home and keeping the culture alive," I replied. "It's no big deal."

Time skip...
Class continued on. Believe it or not, Megumi began to act weird around me, so were her friends. They were being nice to me. Not that I cared or anything but it was just plain out weird. My class had a free study period, meaning we could do whatever we wanted. I pulled out a novel that I had borrowed from the school library and began to read it. I was so absorbed into the book that I didn't notice another presence sit in front of me. A hand reached out towards me. My eyes left the words on the page I was reading and followed the arm up to its owner. It was none other than the class 'desperate flirt', Hikaru. However, his arm wasn't the only thing moving. He was moving towards me as well.  This began to annoy me. I heard giggles in the background as I put my book down.
"What do you think-" I stopped. My eyes were focused on his bare neck. All of a sudden, I felt an immense hunger and thirst. My eyes were still fixtated on his neck. I could feel my teeth, well not all of them, maybe it was only my canines change.
Without thinking, I stood up and ran out of the room. I needed fresh air. The building felt constricting and cramped. I didn't go that far, though I managed to make it outside. Feeling exhausted, I leaned against a tree that was nearby and sat there for a while.
I don't feel so well. Something is definitely up with me. I think to myself.
