Hold on

My dad Charlie met up with me at the airport of forks Washington. Yeah, I wasn't to happy about coming to live with him, for one I would miss all my old friends in phoenix and second, it was rainy here in forks. There was rarely ever any sun shine which bothered me because I loved seeing the sun bright and early every morning. But I knew I had to, my mother Renee had met this guy in phoenix named Phil who was a minor league baseball player, he was going on a little tour to practice with different teams and when he asked my mom to join him she was more than happy to say yes. I knew that she needed alone time with him so I agreed to spend some time with Charlie while she was off traveling the world. Forks couldn't be too bad would it? I mean aside the rain and constant covering of clouds? Yeah, I had heard stories about this place from friends and teachers but never actually believed them. They were all lies and ghost stories to scare me. When I was little it worked, but now that I'm old enough to know better I chose not believe in them.

Charlie gave me a quick hug and showed me to the car before we headed off to his house. It was a bit odd Charlie had left the house looking the same way it had when Renee had left. The walls were still bright yellow, pictures among pictures stood up on the fireplace and even my bedroom was the same. All that had changed over the years were the crib which Charlie had replaced with a king sized bed. My old rocking chair was still in the corner with my old toys and my computer. It was still a bit freaky to know your father was obsessed with your mom the way a teen girl was over Justin Bieber. But in it's own way it was sweet.

Charlie headed off to work after he dropped me off at home, leaving me alone to unpack. I mean I wasn't going to complain, I hated having to sit there and smile, pretending to be happy as they asked you billions of questions about school and old friends. It was nerve wracking. Glad that I had this time to myself I unpacked my things quietly but quickly then headed down stairs to help myself to a granola bar in the cupboard. I sat down and surfed through the channels on the TV as I ate. I eventually left it on NCIS, hoping that watching my favorite TV show would help me relax and forget about things. It helped me a little but when it ended I was back to being board and stressed.

Knowing that staying at the house any longer would only stress me more, I went out on a walk through forks. Today was a nice day I guess, for forks it was. The sun was shining but it wasn't as bright as I'd like it to be, there was no rain and there was no wind either to make me feel cold. This was probably as nice as it got here in forks. I had to say, it wasn't that bad, but I still wasn't in love with the town yet. I stumbled upon a nice little park that was almost empty, except for the small little group of boys playing football on the open grass area. I sat down under a shady tree and dug out a book I had with me in my bag I took. I wasn't a girly girl or anything, but even I found purse handy. In mine I'd usually carry pepper spray, deodorant, perfume, books etc.. Anything that was useful to me on long walks or a day out.

The book I was reading now was called Twilight. it was about this girl that fell in love with a teenage vampire who was technically over a hundred years old. If you asked me, it was a pedophilia romance. Imagine being 17 and dating someone over a hundred and ninety years old. Ugh. It made me shiver just thinking about it. But I had to give Stephanie Meyer some credit though, it was perfectly well written and thought out and had enough action and romance to even things out. It was so easy to picture the characters. It was a good book and one of my many favorites.

I was lost in thought as I read my book and didn't notice as a boy almost fell over me trying to catch the football. I was about ready to stop him but it was to late, he had already fallen on his but and sat next me looking a bit confused until he got up and looked at me.

"Oh! I'm so sorry miss...?" he said asking for my last name.

"Swan" I answered smiling.

"Yeah I'm sorry miss swan. I should've been watching where I was going..." he started but I interrupted him.

"Actually it's my fault. I shouldn't have sat here.' I said to him.

The boy reached his hand out and introduced himself. ""Say, would you happen to be related to chief swan?"

I smiled. "Yes, actually I'm his daughter." I answered truthfully.

A look of shock passed his face as I said this then a look of happiness took over. Before I could process what he was about to do, he leaned down and wrapped me up in a tight hug.

"Bella! God I've missed you!" he said as he hugged me. He pulled back and looked at me and I know I must've looked confused in his eyes. I was to. I didn't even know who this guy was and he was all over me.

"You don't remember me do you?" he asked.

I shook my head "Nope. I'm sorry though"

"I'm Jacob black. Your best friend. Me and you used to make mud pies when we were little?"

That's when I remembered him. Now looking at him I could tell it was him. The only thing that seemed to have changed about him was his voice and his hair was now cut really short, compared to his long black hair he had when I came here over the summer. It was really nice to see him again. It had been so long that I had almost completely forgotten about my life long best friend. He was almost like a brother to me. I only had one brother and his name was Emmett. He lived down in California with his girlfriend and soon to be wife, Rosalie hale. I missed him so much. He was always the one to look after me even though sometimes he was a real pain in the ass.

"Oh right1!" I said as my cheeks grew hot. "I'm sorry I didn't remember but yeah, I remember you know"

Just then a group of boys hollered over to Jacob, calling him back. He looked over at me and apologized. "Sorry Bells. I got to go but I'll see you later okay?"

"Yep" I answered.

He waved goodbye and gave me a small smile as I did the same. After Jacob went back to playing his game of football I grabbed my things and headed home. When I got there Charlie was already home and had some type of fish grilling on the stove. Since he wasn't in the room I finished up the job for him and put them on plates so that they were ready to be served.

Charlie came down stairs and told me "Thank you" before taking his plate in the living room so he could watch his football game. I on the other hand took my plate up stairs and finished up the chapter of my book. By the time darkness over took the sky I was tired so I put on my pajamas and hopped into bed. I fell asleep with my head phones on listening to some CD Phil had given me. surprisingly with all the screaming they did it helped ease my mind and I soon found my self in a deep sleep.

What did you guys think. Don't be afraid to tell me in the comments. Oh and before we go I'd like to take a minute and say that I do not own any of the characters in here except for the ones I have made up. All of the other characters belong to Stephanie Meyer.
