We started walking towards the old, rotting shed. It took at least ten minutes to get there. Cami is awesome. The whole time I was wondering why these people suddenly showed up and made all the accusations against me. I really hope my step-mom isn't dead. I may not have had the best relationship with her, but she's all I have. I don't know where my dad is. All I know is that he mysteriously disappeared shortly after he married my step-mom. I'd be an orphan if she really was dead.
Eventually we approached the shed. Time seemed to slow down as we made our way to the back of the shed, where I was told my mom was. I looked at the back of the shed. There was nothing but a pile of brown, water-logged leaves.
"I told you that I didn't kill my step-mom!" I exclaimed, irate.
"Well, you were right the whole time," said Harold.
They surrounded me. I realized that they had set me up.
"Wait, this is a trap!" I exclaimed angrily.
"It took you long enough to figure it out," Harold said with a sickly cackle.
I was dumb-founded. Why would someone do this to me? What is their motivation? What is going to happen to me?
They closed in around me, coming closer and closer. Harold pulled out a dagger with a jeweled handle. It sparkled in the protruding rays of sunlight as it came closer to my heart, which was racing. Suddenly, a man's voice stopped us all. It appeared to be coming from a megaphone, like it was from far away. The sound reverberated throughout the forest.
"Stop!" said the man. Somehow, this seemed to stop Harold and his henchmen from continuing their plan, like the man had some power over them.
I looked up and saw a white helicopter with blue and red whirling blades. It was hovering over the shed. The helicopter landed in the clearing next to the shed. The man exited the helicopter and started running towards us like our lives depended on it.
