"Make a wish!"
I looked up at the grinning boy next to me, his face bright in the dark candlelight. His dark hair curled perfectly, his smile looked whiter than pearls. I laughed and obeyed, turning to the neon colored candles, the little games danced back and forth and I grinned.
I didn't need to wish.
I had everything I wanted.I bit my lip and froze, that wasn't necessarily true. We had always been struggling. God knew a little financial help wouldn't hurt. But.. Was that selfish? To wish for money when I had love?
I looked back up at the boy and smiled up at him. No, I could still have both. Who said I didn't deserve every happiness?
I closed my eyes and slowly formed the single thought.
"I want to be rich."
Within seconds the flames were out and everyone was clapping.
I didn't realize my love would soon run out.
Everything was good.
