A Poem For The Poetry Club!

I wrote a poem some time ago

When I was just a kid at school

My teacher said it was the best in class

But when I walked to the playground

The kids then pushed me to the ground

I was the biggest joke on which they had their laughs

They always had a go at me

Because I'd written poetry

And I gave up the one thing that I loved

If I could get a time machine

I wouldn't care if they were mean

And I wouldn't let myself get shoved

Now don't feel sorry, don't be sad

I found a site, it's called Wattpad!

And here I've found so many good new friends

And at the heart of this thriving hub

I found the one and only poetry club

And thousands of new poems that have been penned

So I picked up a pen and began to write

And then uploaded to the poetry site

The next thing that I knew of it was dawn

My body felt tired but my mind refreshed

I'd given my poetry a pound of flesh

A new excitement in me had been spawned

Now I know I'll never be like Chaucer

When I add new poems to the poetry corner

But then the poems I write are of all kinds

So I add my works to the server host

Then I hit the button that says to post

And hope somebody likes what's in my mind

I love it when I get some hits

And I try to read some other's bits

And look into their poem folder contents

If I got some time I read what I can

I may even vote and even fan

And there's also a chance you may receive some comments

The poetry club is the best one here

We band together like the musketeers

We write what we can and find new ideas that works

We're getting our own identity

And that's the way it's meant to be

Supporting each other sure does have its perks!

So let yourself go and scream and shout

Do your best, write what you can

It might just get you another fan
