Rumours spread around the town; rumours of Vampire Hunter's and a betrayer. Vampire Hunter's do not know of our annual ball; so how did they find out? A vampire betrayer, of course. Or was it the human's taking revenge on us? Vampire's had so many enemies; which enemy could have done it?

Every single vampire was in hiding; we couldn't risk being found. Our whisperers (our human 'slaves' who hear things and report back to us) set out into towns full of humans, trying to gain knowledge about that night. They all found nothing. Whoever planned this was clever, and obviously lived among vampires.

The leaders called a meeting. All the vampires and their families in Greenhill gathered in the vampire doctor's apartment. Mrs Lacie Heinz sat in her throne next to Mr Derek Heinz. They looked serious, but also tired. We all bowed to the leaders as a sign of respect. Mrs and Mr Heinz nodded back at us. Mrs Lacie sat up straight and took a deep breath in, "Hello all and thank you for coming. You all know that we have still not found the culprit or culprits for this heinous crime." Whispers began to rumble around the large room. Mrs Lacie looked around, clearly annoyed at all who were talking. "SILENCE!" The whispers stopped; everyone's attention was back on Mrs Lacie. "Thank you. You will NOT talk to anyone else while I am talking. We need to find out who or what group has done this to us. How dare they do this to us? We must take action." The vampires looked around at each other and nodded in agreement.

A male in the crowd raised his hand. Mrs Lacie looked at him and nodded, acknowledging him to speak. "Your grace, my family has captured one of the individuals involved in the crime. We have interrog-"

Mrs Lacie cut him off, rage filling her face. "WHY DID YOU NOT BRING IT TO US AT ONCE?! THIS FIEND COULD HAVE GIVEN US INFORMATION AGES AGO! YET YOU DECIDE TO KEEP HIM AND INTERROGATE IT YOURSELF!" Mrs Lacie slumped back slightly, calming down slowly. The male was clearly shocked. He took a step backwards but vampires behind him pushed him forward. Mrs Lacie sighed again, "Bring me your prisoner immediately." The male nodded and ran off. Mrs Lacie looked to one of the guards, "When we have retrieved the prisoner, make sure you take that man down to the dungeons and kill him." The guard nodded and turned back to facing the audience off vampires. Mrs Lacie sighed and placed her right hand on her face. "You may all leave, unless you have valuable information for me." All the vampires turned around, leaving out of the door.

Mrs Lacie and Mr Derek sat in their thrones together, surrounded by their guards.

The drive home was silent. We did not know who our friends were, and who were are enemies. No one can be trusted. A vampire who betrays its own kind is the worst vampire of them all.

As we arrived home, a male was standing by the front door. It was not Stefan, it was Rhys. I smiled as he stared into the car looking at my family and I. Rhys smiled as he noticed me sitting in the back seat. I got out of the car and ran towards him. My parents slowly got out of the car and also walked towards him. "Hey Rhys!" I practically shouted at him with joy. Rhys chuckled, "Hey there Little Miss Happy". My parents came up and looked at us cautiously. Rhys smiled and nodded at them both, my parents did the same in return and then went inside. I looked up at Rhys, "So, how come you're here?" Rhys looked down at me, and his face turned to shock. He couldn't help but laugh as he did. "I am shocked! How could you ask me such a question? I thought we were friends." I punched his arm and we both laughed. "Nah, I came round to see if you wanted to hang. I didn't see you after the meeting, so I thought I'd just meet you here."

I smiled at Rhys, "Yeah, of course. What did you want to do?" Rhys turned around and pointed to his car. "Come with me, and I'll show you. It'll be a surprise." I smiled back at Rhys, and we walked to his car together.

Rhys drove me to the other side of Greenhill, somewhere I had never been before. There were old buildings, almost decaying from the wind and rain. There were no signs of life anywhere.  The car stopped in front of an old building. We sat in the car silently, waiting for something to happen. I looked at him curiously, "Why are we here?" Rhys looked down at the steering wheel. "I...You...I'm sorry." I raised an eyebrow at him, but the car door opened behind me. I tried to turn around quickly, but a bag was placed over my head and something was jabbed into my arm. I began to feel dizzy and weak. I tried to move quickly, but my arms turned to jelly. My consciousness slowly faded away, and I began to dream of Stefan.
