Chapter 6
Mackenzie POV
I smirked, pulling out my outfit. I chose a white tank-top, with a large black and red boy-friend shirt, and short, denim shorts. I pulled on some Justin Gypsy's and grinned, brushing out my hair, then walking down the stairs. I put my camo case on my phone, and grabbed my Browning headphones. I hopped into my black Chevy Silverado, turning the radio to a country station.
"Bein' that girl in a country song! Where in the world did it go so wrong!" I sang.
I pulled out of the driveway, heading towards the school. I ignored all the looks I was getting as I sang my heart out, not caring if they heard me. I turned the radio down slightly as I got a text. I held down the home button and activated Siri.
"Read text." I said.
"You have a message from Blake the Fake: Where are you, Z?"
I stuck out my tongue, turning back to the radio. That hoe could wait five more minutes.
After pulling into the school parking lot, I slid out of my truck, thinking of plans to play hard-to-get to get Jason back. Major Mate Mood Swings. Quickly walking down the hall, I leaned against my locker, unwrapping a cotton candy lollipop. I raised one of my boots against the lockers behind me and rested the back of my head against them as well. I could feel the cool metal of the lockers seeping through my bones and cooling the slight fever I had. I smiled slightly when my headache wavered, letting me think clearly.
"Z!" I heard a voice call.
I looked over to see who it was, smiling when I saw Blake making his way over to me. I gave him a small wave, smiling slightly. He leaned on the lockers next to me, smirking.
"Why didn't you answer my text? And you know they don't allow you to eat anything unless its lunch, right?" He asked.
"You know," I said, twisting my body to lean sideways as well, my face close to his. "I don't really care?"
He chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "Principle Queef cares."
I rolled my eyes. "Principle Queef has a stick up his ass."
He burst into laughter, my own snickers following. I could feel eyes on us, and I knew one of the pairs were Jason, another probably Jaycee.
"So." He said after we calmed down. "What Pack are you in?"
I shrugged. "I'm not in a Pack."
His eyes widened. "What are you, a rogue?"
I rolled my eyes, smiling slightly. "I guess. We were granted permission to leave. Too much drama and suspicions were picking up in the area around us."
Blake's face showed his shock. "What did you even do?"
I shrugged. "I got into a few fights. Then those people started disappearing. Creepy, right?"
Thinking about it now, those people always ended up on the news reports… I was snapped out of my memories when my phone rang, “All About That Bass” coming from the speakers. I slid my phone out of my back pocket, not bothering to check the caller ID.
“Mack? Where are you? Class starts in ten minutes and you weren’t home!” Rose asked.
I smirked. “Hey Rosalinda! I’m already here girl, calm yourself.”
“Could’ve left a note, ya know; or texted? I’ll just see you at school, talk to you later.” She said, hanging up.
I took the phone away from my ear. "Bye?"
