Chapter 1: Moving Day
"But mom, why do we have to move? We just got back from Tennessee, And now we're moving again?,"I ask angrily.
"Honey, I can't help it. Your dads work is always moving. We can't change that.," she says trying to get me to calm down.
"No, but he can find a new job. I'm tired of always moving. Why can't we just settle in one place and stay there?"
"I'm sorry if you feel that way, but it's not easy finding a job in Minnesota. .And maybe moving to England will be our forever home. Your dads boss said that he had a huge house we can stay in while we're there, and we don't owe anything."
"Ok," I say knowing I can't change her mind," I just hope I can make some new friends there. You know I'm not good at making friends."
"Well, yeah I know but don't worry your going to go to a public school, so there will be lots of exchange students there. You'll fit in perfectly."
"Alright," I said and starting packing my stuff again..."
*3:00 AM*
Really? I still can't go to sleep. I just can't think about all the horrible things that will happen in England. I mean, all the popular girls always pick on the new kid. But I guess it will be ok, I won't be new that long.
"Now go to sleep!," I tell myself just trying to not think about school.
"Just count the sheep...," I say starting to doze off," It's all gonna be alright."
*the next morning*
"Hun, Breakfast is ready!," I hear mom screaming," You got to eat. You won't be eating anything else for a while."
"I know, I know. I'm coming.," I say rushing down the stairs.
I hear dad saying," Hurry up, we can't miss our flight.," which he said for the fifth time this morning.
"Gosh dad, I know we got to hurry. Just shut up already! No ones more excited about this trip than you are. I don't care."
"It'll be fine, Kyra. Don't worry about it, but we got to hurry our flight is at 10:00 and it's already 8:30 and it takes us over an hour to get there. Lets go!"
"I'm hurrying," I say putting my stuff in the car," Happy now?"
Dad answers," Hey, don't get smart with me young lady. Me and your mother never raised you that way."
"Ok, whatever."I say as I get into the back seat of the car.
