Ronnie’s POV

“Ronnie,” I heard someone whisper, waking me up from my sleep. “Ronnie, my best friend and roommate, Mikenzie, said, a little louder. “C’mon we have to go shopping.”

Oh right. We were going to a One Direction concert tonight. Kenzie’s cousin, Harry, wanted to meet our roommate, Abi, so he invited us to one of his band’s concerts. Kenzie was really close to him before he became famous, so she immediately jumped at the chance to see him. And she had to drag Abi and me with her. I wasn’t a big fan of One Direction, I liked a few of their songs and I thought they were talented, but I wasn’t about to get a tattoo of their faces or something.

“Where’s Abi?” I asked Kenzie, yawning in the process.

“I think she went to the library or some shit. You know how much she hates shopping.”

Abi HATED shopping. She was a tom boy, and very independent. In her words, she “didn’t need a man to babysit.” She just had a bunch of bad boyfriends. You know the douches that cheat and don’t care about anyone but themselves. She was bad at choosing guys.

“Yeah. So what are you cooking me?” I asked, giggling. Abi’s normally the one who wants food, but right now I was so hungry I could eat a horse. Make that two horses, as I smelled peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes.

“Your favorite!” she replied with a smile. With long brown hair and big green eyes, Mikenzie didn’t need makeup. Her smile was big enough to light up a room. She was the prettiest girl I knew. I may be a little biased, but she truly was beautiful. If only she believed it.

3 hours later, Mikenzie and I had managed to drag Abi with us to the spa. And we had to pay her 20 bucks just to get her hair done. We wanted to look pretty tonight, because, you never know, she might just fall in love with one of the boys from One Direction. I had bought an outfit for tonight, a loose floral tank top with white shorts and some sandals. Mikenzie picked a pink chevron maxi dress with a studded jean jacket and wedges. I don’t know what Abi was planning to wear; she’d probably just throw on something at the last minute. She was so pretty, and she didn’t even try. Her mid-length lilac hair was the perfect shade of purple, and there was never one hair out of place. She was a hipster, and she was so different from Mikenzie and me, but we still got along so well. Mikenzie and I had known each other since we were 3, when she moved next door to me. We just met Abi 2 years ago, when she was assigned to the same dorm room as us when we first started uni. We hit it off immediately, and have been inseparable since.

“Ronnie?” Abi said, whimpering.

“What’s wrong Abs?” I asked, going over to give her a hug.

“I’m scared. I’m nervous to meet the boys, what if they don’t like me?” she asked. Abi didn’t show her emotional side often, it made her seem so….so…vulnerable.

“They won’t hate you! You’re beautiful, smart, caring, and you’re not afraid to be yourself. Who wouldn’t like you?”

“I guess so…thanks Ronnie!” she said, smiling.

“Anytime. Now, let’s go knock the socks off of these boys,” I said.
