"Lila! Babe! Where are you?"

His voice carries up the stairs, waking me from my nap. His feet pound up the steps as I rub my eyes, wiping the sleep from the corners. I stretch my arms above my head. He steps into my room, smiling from ear to ear.

"Babe, you never guess what.." he stops mid sentence, eyes roaming the band of exposed skin at my waist. I yank my t-shirt back down to cover myself, but it's too late. He's off-track.

"Were you..were you sleeping? Did I wake you up? Babe, I'm sorry, I can wait a few hours, if that's what you want." He says earnestly, his chocolate curls quivering.

"No, really, it's fine. I've been asleep far too long, anyway. So, what is it, Harry? I mean, you must have woke me up for something, right?" I tease, grabbing his hand and pulling him close. He sits beside me, his arm automatically encasing my shoulders.

Harry and I have been dating for two years. I like to think that we have one of *those* relationships. You know, where we're best friends until things get heated. All I know is, Harry is my rock. I couldn't make it without him. I may be only 16, but I know for a fact that he's the one.

"Lila....I'm going to audition for the X-Factor! I'm really doing it!" He breathes excitedly into my hair.

"Harry! You are? You're really doing it? I know you'll make it, babe. I'm calling it. Twenty says you'll make it." I screech. I've stood up, and now I'm jumping up and down. Harry and I like to make bets. We'll put a certain amount of money on something to happen, yet we never seem to cough up the cash. I think we just like the uncertainty.

Harry stands, too. I jump on him, wrapping my legs around his waist and snarling my fingers in his hair. Our lips meet feverishly, sloppily. Even after two years, we haven't had sex yet. I've always stood very firm on my "waiting until its right" motto, but it frustrates Harry to no end. He's been very patient, though sometimes he's a bit over-eager.

Harry breaks the kiss and looks me in the eyes.

"You'll come with me, wont you? I don't think I can do it if you're not there." He whispers.

"Harry, of course." I breath, resting my head on his shoulders. "Of course."

"Lila? Are you home?" A woman's voice yells from downstairs. Her hesitant treading echoes into my room. I quickly disengage from Harry, unwinding our bodies. By the time my mother enters my room, were chastely standing side by side.

"Oh, hello, Harry. I knew you'd be around somewhere." She says warmly. She's always liked Harry.

"Hello, Mrs. Effertz." He smiles.

She beams at him before turning back to me.

"Lila, something just came up, and I have to fly to New York for a week or so. Will you be alright at Harry's?"

Whenever one of our parents goes out of town, Harry and I always stay at each others houses. It's just me and my mother and Harry and his, and they trust us both completely. I guess that they think that after we've been together for so long, we're responsible. I mean, we are. We've slept in the same bed countless times and I've still retained my virginity.

"Lila?" Mom says, snapping me out of my daze.

"Oh, yeah, Mom. I'll be fine." I say quickly.

"Don't say anything. Not yet." Harry whispers in my ear. I nod subtly.

"Alright, then. I'm off the the airport!" She says brightly after hugging us goodbye. When she's gone, I turn back to Harry.

"I can't believe this. It still hasn't sank in! My boyfriend is going to be a superstar, I just know it! Well...that is..if I'm important enough to keep around." I babble, quietly.

"Important enough? Babe, you're the only thing that matters to me right now." Harry whispers.

"I hope so." I murmur, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and leaning into his chest. We begin to sway, Harry singing into my ear.

"....how dare you say it's nothing to me, baby you're the only light I ever saw...."
