Chapter 17

"Not a problem for us at all" Lauren took a step foreword. I groaned grabbed my walkie talkie.

"You all have, five minutes to write down what you want from the store and at least 2 from each of you" I said.

"Dani can you go get the list when they are done" I said. She teleported off and came back in less than a minute.

"List" she gave it to me

I opened the four folded paper and my jaw dropped. "Chris!" I said flabbergasted.

He peered over. "Quiet Aston eats a lot" He said smiling.

"Ok I guess we are going to the store" Ben said.

"Did the boys want anything?" Lauren asked.

"How am I supposed to know, I'm not as organized as her?" Ben smiled winking at me. I beamed.

"We are going to a normal store" I said.

"With who's money?!" Chris said. "Every place is expensively expensive" he yelled

"Calm down" I patted his chest.

"We are shop lifting" I smiled. Lauren gasped. The twins smiled.

"But isn't that bad?" Dani asked.

"Yeah are you sure you want to teach her this?" Lauren smirked.

"In this city...... Those Normals will try to kill you" I said.

"Decent food isn't for the inhumans" Chris sighed.

"And the money mutants do get is saved up to leave this side of the country" Ben sighed

"And why are you still here?" She asked.

"To make a difference, I want to stop who's been killing all these innocent people" I said.

"Fine I'll help, but I'm not hurting anyone!" She said.

"Chris, Ben and Lauren, you will make sure no one sees us take things off the shelves, Dani and I will teleport things back and forth from the store" I said.

"This is wrong" Lauren said.

"We need a way to eat and we are running out of food." Chris said reaching for my hand to lead me away.

"Teleport some to our base as well" Ben said. Chris tensed his arm glaring at Ben. Ben looked just as up tight

"Somethings going on. Fix it Alright?" I said slipping out of his hand. "Just be mature about it and don't bring attention to yourselves" I grabbed Dani's hand.

"Jay!"  Ben yelled. I twirled and he embraced me.

"I am sorry. I just. Really wanted you to know... I'm sorry for the way I treated you back when you were still living with us. I hope I wasn't the reason for...." He said

"For what?" I said wincing and squirming. My stomach was killing me. My face visibly showed me suppressing my pain. Chris pried his brother's hands from me as the pain went away.

"I already told you her body is trying to repair."

I lifted my shirt to look at the bandages.  "Oh...." I said solemnly. "Yeah...."

"I know we have a problem, but you aren't going alone, matter a fact at all" Chris said.

"She's fine" Ben stroked my hair. I sat on a rock with my knuckles in between my legs

"Chris is right, I shouldn't be out here" I mumbled.

"I don't think you're weak, it's just that right now you can't do anything, a messed up core will get you killed with one blow" Chris said.

"I'll call Mimi out" I sighed.

"Oh come on don't pout" he said. I pouted some more. He pinched my cheek affectionately. "Come on. I can't send you back upset. They will blame me. Please go back." he teased. I continued to pout and huffed. He pulled harder with a sadistic smile

I winced "OK OK OK."

"Let her come! It's only a grocery run" Ben yelled.

"She's injured severely"

"I know he's just looking out for me" I laughed throwing him the list. Dani teleported me inside and teleported Mimi out. I put a pillow over my head and I smiled. I kicked my legs widely and giggled uncontrollably in my room. My face felt warm and I could still feel his hand on my cheek

"Careful you might break your bones again" Tony came out of his room.

"Hi there Tony!" I smiled.

"I learned your muscle will heal faster with heat" He said grabbing my hand and leading me towards his lab

"Lay here, I have to pour boiling water on ya" he laughed. "Shouldn't hurt though!"

I heard liquid and I felt the flow of the water and, my finger tighten from testing the water. "You're positive this will work?" I asked.

Tony grunted in pain from the boiling water hitting his skin. "Yeah."

I went into the front room and it was filled with groceries. I began to put them away in the fridge and cabinet. But they kept coming, I finally stopped Dani and whispered something into her ear.

"Start sending things to Ben's place" She nodded and teleported off.

"Jamie its done make sure your torso is in there."
I hopped in and sunk down so my chest tighten and heal slowly

I laughed. "I forgot the damn bandages" I ripped them off and threw them out and made little bubbles with the water

"We are back" Dani screamed.

"Cool" I yelled back.

"Where are you?" Chris asked.

"Tony's room. I rather you don't come in. Im getting... checked?" I barley squealed out.

"Stop screaming!" Mimi yelled.

"Fine" I rumbled lowly. My chest was still pulling back and tightening.

"Where is everything?" Chris grumbled.

"It's some where" Dani said.

Dani barged in and glared at me. "Where are the stupid Mac n' cheese boxes we stole" She said.

"Figure it out" I sunk lower because Mimi peered over the 14 year old.

"I can't find my Chips" she whined.

"Jesus f-" I said grabbing my towel and wrapped it around myself.

"Where is it?" Chris opened doors and slammed them.

"Be gentle they are 10 years older than you" I said.

"Where is the Poptarts them?!" He asked. He quickly looked away.

"Chips and snacks up there" I pointed and Mimi practically climbed the counter.

"And boxed foods in here" I pointed to a lower one. "Learn this kitchen" I said boiling more water
