A beat up red car pulls into the long circular driveway.
It's them! "Open the gates, please!" I call out. A butler pulls the lever, opening the gates to the Pines. The pull in and Mabel gets out.
"Mabel!" I run up and greet her at the door.
"Hey, Paz!" she says, smiling as always.
"Where's Dipper?" I ask. Then I turn red. I don't want to sound like I wish he was here, but I don't want to take it back saying I don't care about him. Either way, this is awkward.
"He got a fever. I'll be helping you with the ghost!"
"Tell him feel better for me."
"I will."
I take a look at her. Beautiful: she's wearing a dark pink dress with a light pink belt around it and a matching light pink bow in her hair, a pearl necklace, and dark pink flats.
"So," I interrupt the silence."Let me show you the main room, where it's been happening."
I guide her to the main room that consists of a pool table, a fireplace, bookshelves, and animal heads posted on the wall. And a picture of the lumberjack who helped build the mansion one hundred and fifty years ago.
"Whoa. This looks like the kind of room that would be haunted."
I sigh."Yeah."
"Okay, so we just gotta find it and splash it with some holy water, then no problem!"
"Cool." I want to say something else, but what can I say? "I love you"? At a time like this? I catch my breath.
Mabel pulls out what probably is a ghost hunting machine out of her backpack and walks around the room with it. "Hm... I'm getting some kind of feedback..." She walks up to the picture of the lumberjack. The thing goes wild, then shuts off.
I stroll over."Is everything okay?"
"I-It just shut off... it never does th-that..." she stutters."Somethin' creepy is g-going on."
We both look at the machine. Mabel hits it with her palm and it turns on again, beeping.
"This is a serious ghost," she says.
We look back up at the painting and gasp. The lumberjack is missing, but the picture is still there.
"What the hell?!" I exclaim, jumping back.
Mabel screams and drops the machine. It breaks.
A big window shatters and the glass picks up and whirls around us. A shard of glass cuts my arm and I start to gush blood uncontrollably.
"Pacifica! Oh no! Are you okay?!"
All I can manage is a grunting noise as I wince in pain.
Books and random items start to fly around us as if we were in the middle of a tornado.
"The journal said nothing about this!" Mabel shouts."This must be the worst ghost possible... a category ten!"
The holy water glass container is knocked out of her hand by a book and falls to the ground, breaking.
Well, this isn't going very good.
This is a good time to scream.
On cue, Mabel and I screech at the top of our lungs.
