"Her life is perfect, I hate her so much" I over heard in the hallway. I turned a little and saw them pointing and glaring at me. I turned back around. 'if only the knew the truth' I thought. I hugged my books even closer to my chest and rushed to my next class.
I walked through the door and sit in my seat in the back of the room. The teacher came up by me "hey Aemma, ready for science today" "Yes Mr. Vushin, you know I always am" I stated with a smile. He walked away to get ready for class. I love science. It was easy and fun.
I got out my black notebook and started to sketch my latest favorite drawing. A fancy butterfly melting off the page.
The bell rang and I looked up. All the sudden three boys came running in. One of the boys bummped into the back of my chair. "sorry" I mumbled "why are you sorry? I'm the one who bumped into you" A gruff voice said behind me. My Breath hitched and my heart thumped. I turned around to find Eric Rollinger standing behind me.
My crush.
I smiled quickly and turned around quickly feeling like a fool. I heard him step away and sit down a couple of rows away. "Alright everyone" Said an over eager Mr. Vushin "Today we are going to talk about genes. Not the kind you put on and take off but the kind that is inside you". Mr. Vushin rambled on for the rest of the class about genes and other stuff that might of been on topic for once, but i didnt hear a word of it. Eric talked to me. This wasn't something new, but it was one of the few times he talked to me where he wasn't cracking a joke, annoying me, or being too overly serious.
Just as the bell rang I rushed out of the classroom and sprinted down the hall toward my locker. I opened it up and quickly grabbed my phone. I texted a few of my friends.
I packed my homework into my backpack, walked out the front doors, and waited at the corner for my best friend Christina.
I had stood there for about three minuets when who should come by Eric with three giggling girls in tow and all over him. He laughed at something one of them said. I looked at him then looked away in envy.
One of the giggly girls bumped into my hip. I winced, hopefully not enough to let anyone notice and find out my dirty little secret.
But someone did notice.
Eric noticed.
