“Forest it’s time for bed.” My mom said as she smiles down at me.

“Aw but mom its only 12:30, I don’t want to go to bed.” I whined pouting.

She tilted her head as she smiled at me then caressed my cheek. “You have school tomorrow my sweet boy.”

I pouted and stood up then walked up the stairs with my mom fallowing close behind me. “Don’t pout honey you’ll be awake before you know it and at school with all yours friends my sweet boy.”

I frowned and looked back at my mom. “Mom you know I don’t have any friends I’m weird as they say.”

She sighed at me and smiled gently at me. “Maybe you’ll make a few soon it’s never too late my sweet boy. Your only 16”

I forced a smile and leaned down hugging her tightly. “I love you so much mom…..I just wished they wouldn’t tease me for being the way I am you know?”

She hugged me back tightly and frowned. “I know forest… I’m so sorry they tease you for being the way you are but you know I will never…ever stop loving you. Maybe one day when you’re in collage you’ll find a nice boy who will love you the way I do.”

I forced a smile and kissed her cheek then continued up the stairs. I lay in bed and closed my eyes as my mom sang to me and stroked my hair till I fell asleep.

I wake up to the smell of burnt fabric…a sickly sour smell that makes me cough and my eyes burn. It has been years since I’ve dreamt of the last night I saw her.

I look around and see that it’s on the couch that’s burning. I panic and try to get off the couch but it bursts in high bright blue and gold flames. I gasp and hold a whimpering sparrow to my chest and start to gasp for clean air only taking in thick black smoke. My eyes widen and I start to curl up and scream for someone to put out the flames. Sparrow tries to wiggle away from away to get out but I hold him tightly and tilt his head up for him to look at me.

“hey it’s going to be okay don’t worry just cover your ears for me I won’t let you get hurt I promise. Just close your eyes and cover your ears tight.” I said. I smile as he nods and covers his ears and closes his eyes tightly. I kiss his forehead and curl up tight covering any part of his body with mine as best as I can.

I hum the song my mom used to sing to me under my breath and whimper as I feel the flames lick my soft tender skin. After a few minutes I start to scream as my cloths burn away then go for my skin. I clench my teeth and try to ignore the pain singing the song in my head. “Feu venir a moi, ne faire qu’un avec moi. Je vous prie de m’aider, fais ce mal et la douleur disparaissent.”

I felt a burst of pain shoot threw my shoulder blades to my back causing me to howl and cry in pain. I shook paralyzed in pain whimpering and crying trying hard to ignore it. Soon the flames when down and I still clung to sparrow.

I groaned as they had to pull my legs down and arms apart to get to him. I felt my skin crunch and flake away leaving a light pink wet exposing of flesh. I lowly opened my eyes and saw my skin was black. The front of my body and the bottoms of my feet were unharmed except for my lower part of my legs and the top of my head. My hair burnt off and gone.
