Soul Binding, the art of binding a soul to an object alive, or dead, sentient or non-sentient. It is divided into three categories Possession, Voodoo, and Tsukomogami. In the case of Possession, the Soul Binder use their own soul or part of their soul to possess an object granting them supernatural power. In Voodoo, they bind a soul not belonging to them to a target object commanding the object as a master to a servant. In Tsukomogami, the object gain its own soul largely due to either exposure to large amount of supernatural powers or to length of time it has remain in existence.
If anyone were to look throughout history they could see insurmountable records of possession, haunted or cursed object, dead bodies coming back to life and so on, these are all accounts of soul binding.
But where did it all start? Nobody knows, it could very well have started at the beginning when the very first caveman brought out a club and in some way and somehow has imbued it with parts of his very soul, or maybe it was after the hunt whereby the shaman bound the animal spirit to their weapons or maybe it was that a rock just came to life out of its own free will.
Soul binding therefore is an ancient art of magic craft, an art that has been practiced for millennia’s, but why did this come to be? What was the whole point of this? It is said that the one who takes control over all souls become the source and thus is or become God. To gain these power is to conquer all others, and to conquer is to destroy or defeat them in battle.
And thus begins the war of souls.
