It had been exactly twenty-two days and thirty-four minutes since Dianna had texted her to say it was over. Twenty-two days and thirty-four minutes since Taylor's heart had been completely shattered. Twenty-two days and thirty-two minutes since she told her that there was someone new, someone who was okay with having a relationship in the public eye. As hurt as she was, Taylor understood how hard it was in a hidden relationship, she knew she had asked a lot from Dianna. As much as Taylor loved her life and how her career was beginning to take off, she also hated it. She knew it was okay to have feelings for a woman but she also understood why she couldn't come out to the world; as much as she wanted to. She hates hiding who she is, but she knows that her publicist is right. A large percentage of the world won't accept who she is and it would affect her career.

"We're nearly there, Miss Swift"

Taylor was in a trance, she had spent the entire drive thinking about how much she misses Dianna; even Meredith hadn't been the same since she left. Taylor was on her way to the Met Gala. She had no desire whatsoever to go, but her publicist and her mother told her that she needed to get out of the house. She knew she was expected to be there and her fans would be waiting for pictures to surface online, so she forced herself to go. She could see the building up ahead, she took a deep breath and tried to compose herself. She needed to smile and act happy for at least a couple of hours, then she could go back home to her sweats and Law and Order reruns.

Taylor stepped out of the car to a swarm of paparazzi, they were all screaming at her to look at them. It was the same thing at every event: smile, look left, look right. She was blinded by all the flashing lights, they had to of taken hundreds of pictures by now. She finally reached the end of the red carpet when an employee of POPSUGAR grabbed her.

"Taylor! You look absolutely stunning tonight!"

"Thank you for saying that."

She obviously looked a lot better than she felt, which was a plus.

"I have to ask you something that your fans, and the rest of the world are wondering. How are things going in the love department? We know Jake broke your heart but you must surely be seeing someone else by now?"

Taylor felt sick. Dianna. Jake had been a publicity stunt to stop the rumours about her and Dianna dating. Dianna had become really distant and extremely jealous so she called the whole thing off; she hated seeing Dianna upset. They had Jake not show up at her birthday party so that she had a reason to break up with him.

"Taylor?"

Shit. She was being interviewed.

"Oh, um, sorry. I'm not looking for anyone right now. I've been enjoying time at home with my cat, Meredith. We've been watching reruns of Law and Order for the last few weeks."

"So, no new men on the horizon? Maybe you'll find someone to take home tonight".

What the hell, did she not just listen to anything Taylor had said? Taylor absolutely hated that no one ever asked her about her songwriting process or anything relevant to her music. They all cared about one thing; who she was seeing.

"No one will be coming home with me. Oh, I see my friend. I have to go catch up with her".

It was a lie, she just needed to get away. She was going to vomit, she was sure of it. To avoid humiliation, she rushed to the bathroom. Inside the bathroom there were two other women that she didn't recognize, she walked inside the stall, locked the door and took out her phone; 9:22. She had only been there for twenty-two minutes, it felt like it had been twenty-two hours. She went out to wash her hands and noticed there were bottles of water next to the towels. She took one, had a quick drink, took a couple of deep breaths and went back out to face the crowd.

Taylor had walked around for thirty-five minutes, saying hello to people and having quick conversations with Kristen Stewart, Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Lopez. She was trying to be polite but she really didn't want to talk to anyone, she wanted to be home, with her cat, watching television.

"Taylor!"

"Lily! Oh my gosh! It's so good to see you! I didn't know you were going to be here tonight!"

Taylor hugged her friend, Lily Aldridge. She had met Lily at the Met Gala last year. Due to their busy schedules, they hadn't been able to meet much over the past year, however they did manage to text each other at least once a week.

"I didn't know I was coming either. Head office called me this morning and asked me if I would go with our newest angel to the Met Gala. He wanted us to get photographed here so that Karlie could be introduced to the world. By the way, this is Karlie Kloss."

Standing next to Lily was the most beautiful person that she had ever come across in her whole life. This Karlie girl had the most piercing green eyes, and the cutest little freckles. Taylor's stomach was full of butterflies, it felt like more than butterflies, it felt like there was an octopus tickling the inside of her tummy. Lily cleared her throat. Shit, how long had she been staring at Karlie?

"Um, you're beautiful. Shit. I mean.. Hi, I'm Taylor."

Did she actually just tell Karlie that she's beautiful? Karlie chuckled, Taylor could see Lily grinning from the corner of her eye, she could feel her cheeks getting hot.

"Thanks, you're pretty stunning yourself. I know who you are silly, I'm a huge fan. I still cannot believe that you wrote the masterpiece that is Speak Now all by yourself."

Now it was Karlie's turn to blush.

"I mean, your music is pretty decent and you seem nice."

Taylor giggled.

"Wait! Like Karlie's Kookies, Karlie Kloss?"

"That would be me. You actually know about my cookies?"

"Know about them? I love them!"

"Really? Maybe we can bake together one day!"

"That sounds like a plan, here give me your number."

Taylor handed her phone to Karlie so that she could add her number. She couldn't help but notice how beautiful Karlie's smile was.

"I hate to break up this fangirl thing, but Karlie we have to mingle with the rest of the guests now or head office is going to have my ass".

Taylor swore she saw Karlie pout. They said their goodbyes and they were off. Taylor decided to call it a night and headed towards her car.

On the way home, her thoughts drifted towards the beautiful green-eyed goddess she had met tonight. She had only spent a half hour with Karlie but she felt like she had known her a lifetime. She took out her phone and saw that it was still opened to where Karlie had added her number. She decided she would send her a text.

'Hey, I'm really glad that I met you tonight. I hope you were serious when you said we'd bake together, I'd really like that. Hopefully I'll see you soon x'

Within seconds Karlie had responded.

'I'm really glad I met you too! I'll bake my kookies with you any time ;)'

Taylor really wanted to ask her if she was available this week, she really wanted to get to know her better. As if Karlie could read her mind, Taylor's phone buzzed again.

'How about tomorrow? Are you free? I mean, you're probably busy.'

'I'm not busy, tomorrow is perfect. Let me know when you're coming and I'll have my security let you in :)'

Taylor couldn't help but think that tomorrow was going to be a great day.
