Chapter 7: The Care Of A Dragon Slayer!

Well I need to keep track with this story before I will completely forget about it.
Well enough about my FUN self!

The Unknown Avatar woke up with a groan. Her body felt like it weighs a hundred pounds. How long was she unconscious? A day or two? Then, Lucy remembered the voice before she passed out.

"Don't worry. I'll take care of you."

What did that man mean by that?
The injured blonde looked around the room. Not the same room from before. A small sneeze made Lucy look down from her bed. Plue lied there sleeping peacefully. She smiled. She also noticed that the sun has already set.

He's been waiting for me....

A knock from the front snapped her out from her reverie.
"Come in!" Her voice sounded raspy like she has spoken for the first time in months.

The front door opened, revealing the man with pink hair she saved. They stared at each other. Onyx eyes to chocolate brown eyes. Both of them seemed to be in a trance they both can't get out of.

Breaking the awkward and somewhat comforting silence, the pink headed man coughed. "Seems like you're awake," Were his first words. Pretty obvious though. Lucy sighed, "Yeah....." Awkward silence grew once more. The only sounds that were heard were the creeks of the ships and the splash of the ocean water.

The pinkette sighed and walked towards the hanging bed. He sat on the edge, making it squeak by the weight.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"I'm fine I guess." Was her reply.
After her reply, a yawn escaped her lips. "You're tired already?" The male had an astonished look across his face.

Lucy gave off a confused look, "Yeah." What was he so surprised about? "You've been asleep for almost 4 days," She was that tired?

"Wow. I didn't know I was that tired," She gave out a small chuckle, "Guess I should get some fresh air in a few minutes." The man nodded. "So uh....... How am I here now?" She needs answers.

"Well, we've been watching from afar at the Raven Tail boat. That's when we saw the explosions. This fur ball," He pointed at Plue, "Tried to go and save you, but it was too much of a risk. But we heard the whistle and he was out in a flash. So we just sat and watched," He looked down at his sandals but continued, "We were horrified that you wouldn't make it. I mean, you did kind of save our lives," Lucy laughed sheepishly. "But when we saw you with that Raven Tail girl, we settled down. Then you passed out and I had to carry you." He rolled his eyes but smiled.

"U-Uh, thank you......" What was his name again? He took out his hand, "Natsu. Natsu Dragneel."
The blonde smiled a little with a small blush creeping into her cheeks, but also took her hand out. "Lucy Heartfilia." That's when she made a mistake. Her eyes widen at the greatest mistake she made in Avatar history.

Her hands shot up to her mouth, signaling that she shouldn't have said that. The look on Natsu's face was expressionless.
"What did you just say?" His words were demanding.

Lucy waved her hand around,
"N-Nothing!" Visible sweats appeared on her forehead. Her hands becoming clammy. "I'm pretty sure I heard it correctly. Right, Lucy Heartfilia?"

Okay, now this is going to be a big problem. "Please! I don't mean to cause trouble! I-I just stumbled across here! I--" The scared blonde was interrupted when Natsu raised his hand to stop her.

"Look. I know you don't mean to cause any trouble. Besides, you saved my life, you should at least have a chance. And I actually never believed the bad legends about your culture." He grinned. Lucy could feel tears springing in her eyes. "Thank you so much!" She lunged at Natsu, embracing him in a hug. The pirate scratched the back of his head embarrassed.

Lucy let go, wiping the fallen tears. Plue has finally woken up from his nap, taking notice that Lucy finally has woken up also.
The polar bear dog stood up quickly and shoved his head onto Lucy's neck. They nuzzled together like a one very small family.

Natsu just stared at the two, feeling a bit out of place. The white furred animal looked at Natsu, then growled. He jumped in front of Lucy and growled even more.

Natsu puts his hands up, signaling that he's not doing anything. But Plue wouldn't budge. The blonde acted fast and grabbed Plue by the collar. "Plue! It's okay! No need for him to be mauled." Lucy scolded, sweat dropping at the same time also.

Plue's ears fell. He nuzzled his face onto Natsu's stomach. The pinkette gave the Avatar a questioning look. The Avatar giggled. "It's his meaning of sorry," Natsu nodded and awkwardly patted Plue on the back.

The furry pet stepped back and sat next to his owner. "So......" Lucy started, "What are you going to do to me?" Natsu sighed then looked at her. "I don't know really. But you can at least meet my crew," Lucy shook her head multiple times.

"No!"

Natsu tilted his head in confusion. "Why not?" Lucy sighed and looked out the window, now admiring the dark night. "Because I don't want to be a burden to anyone anymore. Many possibilities would happen if I'm around people," Lucy's voice faltered the more she talked.

The blonde Avatar felt the atmosphere get cold, so she brightened things up. "So where's that Raven Tail girl?" Well, she tried. The atmosphere seemed even colder. Natsu ran his fingers through his spiky pink hair, "Not sure. Wendy healed her in the infirmary, but when we checked up on her, she disappeared."

Wendy? Who the hell is that?

Lucy 'Tch'. As expected from an enemy. She kind of regrets that she save Flare.

Kind of.

"But why did you save her?" Natsu's question kind of set her off a bit. Lucy shrugged, trying to lay it off. "When we were fighting, this guy named Ivan and his crew left Flare. Then bombs went off everywhere, leaving us nowhere to go. But Flare left somewhere and I heard a scream. So of course, I followed it. I guess it was just an instinct to save her." Lucy rubbed the back of her head, chuckling slightly.

"Well then Luce," Natsu said while standing up. Lucy head shot up towards him, "Luce?".
The pinkette grinned. "Aye! It's my new nickname for you. Like it?" The blonde nodded. "Hai!"

"Now lets go meet my crew!" Lucy started hesitating. "B-Bu--"
Natsu cut her off with a smirk. "No buts! Come on Luce!" The Avatar couldn't help but blush.
"But it's still pitch black outside!" She tried to reason. "Doesn't matter!" And off Natsu went out the door, while dragging a whiny Lucy and an amused polar bear dog.
