"Hello, Ruby, welcome to Heaven," said the woman at the desk in front of me. She had short brown hair and seemingly caring blue eyes. She wore a bright white business suit with massive wings protruding from her back and a golden halo above her head. She was obviously an angel. "My name is Margie and I am going to be helping you during your journey back to earth."

"Hi. What do you mean my "journey back to earth"?" I asked. I had just blown my head off with a pistol to get away from earth. I didn't want to go back. Isn't that the point of suicide? Leaving and never coming back?

She smiled and said, "As a suicide victim, there was a lot of unfinished business left behind when you ended your life, so this portion of Heaven was made for those who have business to complete back on earth. We send you back until your official ending point is complete, but since you won't be able to truly finish your task, you will just have to watch the alternatives occur and intervene in certain spots. Basically, we are making you somewhat of a guardian angel until your influence is no longer needed."

"But why would you send me back? You must know why I left in the first place right?" I asked looking at her confused. Why would they torture me even worse by sending me back again? "Couldn't everything just go on without me? Everyone seemed fine without me before so why would they need me now?"

"The words of a true pessimist," she laughed. "Darling Ruby, they all needed you in some way or another. None of you knew it because The Great Scheme of Life would be given away. What fun would anything be if everyone knew? Well, darling, you should hurry and get started. Here's a phone so that you can contact me if you need me. Good luck, Ruby."

With those last words she disappeared and I was instantly dropped into a hospital room where I saw my mother by a bed with a bloody body lying on it. Looking down at it, I knew it was me.
