The cool mid-spring breeze of Atlanta hit me as soon as I step foot out of the rental. Once we were out the bel-air took the car key from us. A red carpet rolled out to the entrance for us. The line was really long since this was the hottest and most famous club in the A right now and not to mentioned a celebrity was hosting it tonight.
"Great, how we gonna get in, with this long ass line?" Mo said as we looked to see where the line ended, so we could join. "By the time this line end my make-up probably gonna be messed up." Similar to me, Mo had on a natural beat but with his wavy- curl wig on. Despite, living in Atlanta, Mo always opt for a soho-type of look when stepping out, which could be seen in his black baggy leather pants and open collar shirt. Though, he identified as masculine, he was not confined to any gender-conformed clothing. Mo would wear a wig and makeup one day and come out like Mr-Steal-yo-girl the next.
"Don't worry, I got this."Zonnique smirked, adjusting her breast in the red dress, making sure they were noticeable. She pulled out her mirror from her purse, making sure no lipstick were in her teeth and said "You guys, are gonna be glad you're friends with me."
"Now, what are you gonna do Medusa?" Mo side-eyed. "Scare the bouncer away."I bursted out laughing while he fan himself with his imaginary fan. Zonnique kissed her tooth at him and made her way to the front of the line, motion for us to follow.
"Name please." I heard the guy say in a stern tone without making any eye contact from the clipboard he had in this hand as we stood behind Z like Michelle and Kelly in a Destiny's Child music video.
"Umm right here." Zonnique said, gently lifting the guy's chin with her index finger. I was personally scared for what the bouncer might do. Here this man stood, weighing about 300 pounds and as tall as the New York skyscrapers and Z is being this bold. What an embarrassment it would be if we were turned around by Zonnique's antics. But in a stunning turn of events, his face expression changed from stern demeanor to a lost puppy as he gazed at Zonnique.
"H-Hi." The guy stammered.
"Umm-Hello."Z flirted. "My friends and I were wondering if you could let us in the club." She looked around before battering her eyes and whispering, "But, you see our names now... are not on the list."
"Well I see pretty lady... I don't know if-----
With that Zonnique moved closer and soothingly press her lips against his ears. By the way, he was smiling I'm guessing she whispered some next shit to him cause next thing you know he step aside and let us in.
"Girl , what did you say to that man." I said, looping my arm into hers."You know I don't kiss and tell.'She smirked as we entered, the intermingled smells of alcohol hit my nostrils. The inner scene was jam packed, as colorful fluorescent lights alternated around the room ever so often. The club had three floors, with the D.J., being on the first floor yet his speakers was felt everywhere. We walked through the crowd and up the stairs, as a few guys profiled us and made cat-calls to us.We politely decline as a few up them made their way to my friends and I.
"Bitch you got us into the—." Mo said in shocked as we made our way into the V.I.P section.
"Yessir I did." Z winked."Okk sus, I see you." He smiled, slapping her hands in the process. I shook my head at these two with Z standing appearing to take in her accomplishment.
As the music sounded through the room, we looked around at those below us on the floor dancing. A few stood around bopping their heads to the rhythm of the songs, while others were profiling their potential boo. The usual Atlanta scene I thought.
"Alright, first drinks on me, ladies." Mo shouted through the music as he come back to the section, with a arm full of patron shots. "Drink up, hoes." Without hesitation, we each took one before toasting with one another and consuming the hot/cold alcoholic liquid.
