Authors Note: Hi, so I am new at wattpad so this is my first individual post (I am working on a collaboration fanfiction with LiveLoveActing called Unforgiven). This is based off of the two fairy tail characters Erza Scarlet and Jellal Fernandez. I do not own the cover picture of the story and I do not own Fairy Tail or the characters. I hope you guys like it. :D
The stars of the night illuminated the sky as the rays of the moon gleamed off of Erza's Scarlet hair. Dipping her toes into the crystal water of the serene lake before her she thought about what this man had told her. It had been exactly one month since that romantic sunset. That moment that left her with thoughts of what could have been. Her and this man had such a history together. A history filled smiles and joy. Filled with laughs and grins. But also, filled with tears and despair. Many people would never understand why she would forgive him. Everyone else would have given up on him, but she didn't. She never would, because he would always be that boy she knew when she was a kid with a smile that went from ear to ear. This man was Jellal Fernandez. Gleaming as the light from the moon shown on it, a tear trickled out of her eye as she reminisced about her and Jellal's ups and downs.
"Erza"? She heard a deep voice call out her name from behind her. She tilted her head around too see Jellal standing above her.
"Oh Jellal, um what are you doing so far away from your guild and so late at night". Erza managed to fiddle out of her mouth nervously.
" I could ask the same to you, why are you still up, it is 5:00 in the morning".
She did not answer.
"I left a note appointing another master for Crime Sorcière. I need some time to think, and this lake was the quietest place that I could think of". He answered causing both of their faces to turn bright red. "I couldn't sleep". He added with a more serious tone.
"Do you mind if I sit next to you". He asked shyly.
"Not at all". Erza answered, her cheeks growing even redder, while shifting her weight onto her palms.
He dipped his toes in the serene lake and they stood still admiring the beauty of the nature unravelling before there very eyes.
"You look beautiful without your armor, I mean...you look beautiful with it too but, I mean". Jellal exclaimed nervously.
"Thank you, you know you can take off your mask and cap when you are around me". Erza exclaimed with a blush and a smile but not daring to look into his eyes.
"Oh, okay". Jellal replied proceeding to take off his disguise.
Everything grew quiet.
"I have something to confess to you, about that sunset". Jellal exclaimed.
"I-"
"You don't really have a fianceè". Erza cut him off.
"How did you know" Jellal asked as his face reddened and he shifted his weight.
"Your not a very good liar". Erza answered with a smile. "I just want you to know that I forgive you, but most importantly I want you to forgive yourself".
"I did so much to you, how could you possibly forgive me. I don't deserve you. So to show how sorry I am, I will not allow myself your love". Jellal exclaimed with sadness in his voice.
"But you not allowing us to be together will hurt me even more". Erza replied.
They stood silent for a second until Erza began to move closer to Jellal going in for a kiss. Her heart was beating fast, but she stopped.
"I'm sorry, I respect your decision". She exclaimed with pain in her voice.
She tilted her head away from him as her muscles tensed up and she closed her eyes letting a tear stream out and land on her hand. She then felt his warm, soft hand cup underneath her chin and before she could open her eyes she felt Jellal's lips press against hers. Her heart began to race as she placed her hands on his cheeks as well. From afar, nothing but there shadows holding each other close could be seen, while the mixture between the dark blue shade of the night sky and the bright orange rays of the sun marked the come of dawn and nature began to awaken.
"Thank you Erza, for never giving up on our love and not only forgiving me, but helping me forgive myself. How could I repay you". Jellal asked with happiness in his voice.
"Join Fairy Tail, you know, now that you are not a part of a guild, and there is an empty spot in the S class since mystogan left. I am sure Master Makarov would be more than happy to let you in". Erza explained.
"Okay I will, for you. This dawn can signify a new beginning for us. Hopefully you can forget our past". Jellal excaimed holding his hand out with a smile.
"Jellal, there are many things in our past, that I would not want to forget for the world" Erza exclaimed with just as big of a smile, as she held his hand, neither of them ever wanting to let go.
