-Your POV-
Christmas is tomorrow! I have done nothing for Clint, I screamed in my head. I had already finished the decorations, the tree and all the shopping I had to do, but I didn't get anything else for Clint!
"What I need is a little bit of Christmas music and I know just the song to play," I say to myself as I check the time on my phone.
"JARVIS," I call, hoping the AI can hear me.
"Yes, Ms. (Y/L/N), what can I do for you," the AI asks.
"Please play 'Penguin, James Penguin' by Brad Paisley," I say as I fix a crooked bow and a crooked string of lights.
"Yes, Ms. (Y/L/N)," Jarvis says.
I deeply sigh as the song begins.
" Well, the reindeer pull the sleigh
And the elves make the toys
Those are the stories that are well known
To all little girls and boysBut I've got another story
That I bet you haven't heard
Did you know that Santa
Has a secret agent birdHe's Penguin, James Penguin
That dapper little guy
Like a well dressed duck in a three piece tux
He's Santa's secret spyNow have you ever wondered
How Santa Clause keeps tabs
And how he knows when you've been good
How he knows when you've been badIt's Penguin, James Penguin
That dapper little guy
Like a well dressed duck in a three piece tux
He's Santa's secret spyFrom an undisclosed location
He's watching me and you
He's got satellite up links in his cuff links
Yeah, he sees everything you doHe's Penguin, James Penguin
That dapper little guy
Like a well dressed duck in a three piece tux
He's Santa's secret spyNot so very long ago
Santa didn't need much help
But with more and more kids every year
He soon got overwhelmedHe told the elves one Christmas
We can't do this anymore
Then a knight in shining polyester
Waddled through his doorAnd it was Penguin, James Penguin
He was there to save the day
He had wireless
And GPS outfitted on the sleighAnd Santa said Penguin
Won't you be my ears and eyes
How did you like to help me run
My SCFBIHe's Penguin, James Penguin
And now I guess you've heard
How Santa got his little Christmas
Secret agent bird," I sang as the song played, then I heard Clint."Damn it, (Y/N)," he shouted.
~Clint's POV~
I was trying to sleep when I heard that stupid song playing in the kitchen. I walk into the kitchen groggily placing one foot in front of the other.
"Damn it, (Y/N)," I shout.
She spins around, her smiles goes away when she sees me.
"S-sorry, Cl-Clint," she stammers, tears welling up in her beautiful (e/c) eyes.
I just shake my head and walk over to her.
"What are you exactly saying sorry for?".
"W-waking you up," she stammers again.
"Come 'ere," I tell her, opening my arms to hug her.
She hesitantly walks over and hesitantly accepts the hug.
"You know you're an annoying little shit, but you're my annoying little shit and I wouldn't have it any other way," I tell her.
"You mean it," She asks.
I nod as she buries her face in my Atlanta Falcons shirt. She softly sobs, clinging to me like I'm her life support.
You've been together for about three years, Barton and you still haven't popped the question, my subconscious tells me.
I don't even have a ring, I think as I pick (N/N) up bridal style, then I carry her into our room.
"(N/N), I have to go to the store to get somethings, is there anything I can get you," I ask her, but my answer is a light snore/sneeze combination.
I laugh to myself as I cover her up and kiss her forehead.
~Time Skip~
The first store in the mall I went to look in was Zales , but that place was a no go. Then I tried Jared's Galleria of Jewelry and that was also a no go.
I finally step foot in Kay Jewelers. I also texted Tony and he met me outside Foot Locker, then he gave me one of his credit cards.
Okay, Barton, you're here to buy an engagement ring.
After thirty minutes I had the perfect ring from the Ever Us Best Friends, True Love collection.
~Time Skip~
As I walked back into mine and (N/N)'s apartment I heard her crying."(N/N), Sweetheart?".
I quickly looked in the gift bag, then I walk into our room.
"(Y/B/N), is gone. Dr-drunk dr-driver hi-hit hi-him," she cries as she curls up in a ball.
"I'm here for you, Babe," I calmly say as I sit behind her.
"Th-thanks, Ha-hawk," (N/N) stammers.
"Can I ask you something," I ask as I pull her and the gift bag near me.
She nods.
"(Y/N) (Y/M/N) (Y/L/N), will you marry me," I say/ask.
Her (e/c) eyes light up like (f/c) Christmas lights.
"Yes! Yes, Clint!".
I place the ring on her left ring finger, then (N/N) drifts off to sleep, smiling.
Today couldn't feel or be any better!
