Chapter 1) the Wolf and the Secret

It was cold and rainy that day. It was mid-November and it was pouring outside. Twin brothers Asharon and Rainan sat facing each other on the red window seat, staring out the window as the rest of the kids played in the other room. They were the only teen boys in The Angel Falls Orphanage and as such, they had been through the most. Rainan suddenly turned to his brother and spoke, " You know," he said thoughtfully, "we should leave this place. We could Go live in the woods like we always wanted." "Rain you know they'll find us if we run." Asharon stated. He knew his brother heard the sadness in his voice. They continued to watch the storm continue to spiral out of control when the den-mother, Ms. Serine, came up to the boys in their hidden alcove. "Boys," she started," there's a nice couple here that would like to foster the two of you for awhile. I need you to pack your things and meet me in the office." She walked away, heels clicking with every step. The twins glanced at each other and began to get up. Just as the boys made it safely into their room a loud boom of thunder shook the house causing Asharon to collapse on the floor gasping in fear. Rainan whipped around and tried in vain to calm him down. It so happened that Asharon was terrified of storms. "Ash it's ok, it's just a storm it'll pass." He slowly rocked his scared brother on the floor. "I'll get our bags but remember our own number one rule, Never let them see you weak." Come on Ash, i know it's hard but I need you to pull it together." Ash mutely nodded as Rain got up to put their backpacks together. They were soon downstairs, in front of the door that would show them the new family, new home, and new pain, and there was nothing that could do about it.
