~Azrael POV~

The pain was all I felt; it shot through my back, melted my bones and provoked a scream of anguish to erupt from my lungs. My whole body shook as my wings were torn roughly away from my body, my beautiful black glossy wings, a symbol that I am the Archangel of Death, were now laying on the ground beside me. My red blood seeping out of the arches that had been attached to my back seconds ago.

I glanced up to see my sister Laoel struggling against Father's hold, she tried to get closer to me, but Father wouldn't budge. Michael, our leader, stepped on my now discarded wings making them disintegrate into the ethos.

"Azrael, Archangel of Death, for disobeying an order you are sentenced to be cast from this plane you will be forced to wander for the rest of time, alone," his booted foot came down onto the middle of my back to keep me from standing up to protect my sister.

"NO!" Laoel bit our Fathers arm and ran forward, her purple dress fluttering around her as she pushed Michael out of the way and threw her arms around me.

"If she falls, I fall," Laoel screamed, swatting away my hands as I tried to push her away weakly. There was no way I would fall and take her with me. She needed to be protected, she needed to be nurtured like she deserved to be.

"Laoel, you need to think about this," I wheezed out when her hair came into contact with the slices on my back. "You're not going to survive down there, there are things that will kill you as soon as they look at you." I put my hand on hers and blinked away my tears, Michael will not see me cry. "I can't let you die because of the decision I made."

I looked up to see Michael staring at my sister, I knew he had already made up his mind and there was no turning back when he gripped my sisters white wings and crushed them in his hands.

A scream rang throughout the large hall and a dark chuckle came from Michael's chest, clearly pleased that he had caused her pain. "So you want to fall too?" he asked Laoel getting to her level he pushed the brown hair out of her eyes with a forlorn sigh, he grabbed both of us and dragged us to the portal between our plane and the Earthly realm. "So be it," and with those final words, he pushed Laoel and me into oblivion.

~THE FALL~

The air screamed around us as we plummeted to the unyielding Earth. I gripped Laoel's hands and pulled her to me so when we hit the dirt I would suffer the damage a lot more than she would. Holding her close I took a deep breath as we slammed into the ground, wheezing out a breath I slowly pushed Laoel off of me and moved to stand up on shaking legs, I stumbled to the edge of the crater that we had made and looked around.

Forest, as far as the eyes could see the trees stood so tall I could barely see the tops of them, turning back to Laoel who was picking her way towards me, her wings were completely gone thanks to the form that she had been forced into. Her body looked weak, breakable almost like she was a child. She stumbled towards me and gripped my arm when she was in reach.

"What is this place?" she asked looking around the forest in wonder.

"I have no idea," I mumbled in return choosing a random direction, I began to walk with her dragging after me slowly, there was a soft 'Ow' from behind me and I turned to look at her. She gripped her ankle and held it delicately in her hand. "What happened?" I asked moving closer I saw that a sharp stick had embedded itself into her foot. "You're going to be alright," I mumbled, pulling the stick out. I threw it far enough enough away from us so that she wouldn't step on it again.

"Where did he send us?" she asked as she took a hesitant step on the sore foot that was quickly healing.

'At least that aspect of our powers stayed,' I thought as I trudged through the foliage of the forest floor.

Not 10 minutes later we came to a large road that held a massive mile marker on the side where we had popped out. "To answer your earlier question, he threw us in Carson City," I mumbled with a sigh as I pulled my sister towards where the sign said the town was.

"So how do we survive?" Laoel asked clearly not thinking of this at all. "What if we starve to death?"

We now stood in a park close to a high school, she began to hyperventilate and freak out.  "That's what humans do right?" I felt the need to slap her, but it died down when I realised why we were getting so many weird looks from the humans around us... we looked like your average teenagers.

"Laoel," I mumbled as she began to mutter to herself more and more about how we were going to die. "Hey," I put my hand on her shoulder and sent a small shock throughout her body which caused her to gasp and glare at me.

"What was that for?" she asked with a glare, she then looked around at the people who were openly glaring at us. "Why are they staring at us like that?"

"Because we're teenagers and we're supposed to be in school right now," I mumbled, grabbing her hand once more I began to frantically search for a hole in the wall where humans got their money from. We needed money and I didn't care how we got some so long as we didn't die, I was fine with a little stealing.

Stepping up to the glowing red screen that said ATM on it, I hesitantly touched a button and smiled when it started up.

"Azrael, what are you doing?" she asked as I tried to make the blasted machine work like it had done for the human that was in front of us. I was about to slam my hand into the screen when a message popped up.

'Hello Azrael' I sighed, I knew who the message was from so I looked to the sky and rolled my eyes. As if he could see my reaction another message replaced the last one.

'I knew you both would need some human money, this is for you both. All the money you could possibly need to become as comfortable as possible. Do not say I haven't done anything for you' ~ Father

Pressing the Check Balance button I grinned when I saw how much money he had put into the account that had my name on it. He wouldn't be hearing me complain for the rest of time.

Getting some money out, I grinned at Laoel's baffled face and turned on my heel.

"Where did you get that from?" she asked.

"A concerned third party," I said with a chuckle. This was going to be so easy.
