~Mysterious Boy's POV~
I looked at the girl that had just tripped and noticed that she was escorted by a young woman.
She must be handicapped, I thought.
"You're very welcome beautiful stranger." I looked at the girl when we got to the top of the stairs. She had red hair and gorgeous green eyes, but they look kind of glazed over.... She was wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt with blue jeans, and purple converse.
"So....what's your name?" I turned to her.
"My name is Alex Reid, nice to meet you." She nodded. "My name is Ginny Maxwell, and I'm blind." I looked at her escort.
"Hello, I am Miss Rolfe, Ginny's adviser, nice to meet you Alex, but we have to hurry to Ginny's next class." I waved to Ginny, even though I knew that she couldn't see. "Bye Ginny, see you later!"
I walked to Mr. Willis's social studies class, smiling the whole way.
"Mr. Reid!" I walked right into Mr. Willis. (And let me tell you not a good idea, he's built like a tank!) "Sorry, I'm just....distracted..." I gave him a sorry look. "Just be more careful, next time you might not be so lucky and run into Mrs. Arrow."
He whispered and chuckled slightly. "Call that unlucky times three billion!!" I laughed. "Yeah now hurry and sit down, you know I don't like counting people late." I nodded and took my seat.
"I would like you all to know that we have a new student with us!" Mr. Willis announced. I raised my eyebrows. Could it be Ginny? I thought. A moment later Ginny comes through the door followed by Mrs. Rolfe. "Hiya, I'm Ginny!" Ginny waved and smiled a little at everyone. Mr. willis nods. "Yes, and she will need a little help, so will someone please sit next to her and help guide her?"
Ginny frowned, "I don't need a student, I have Mrs. Rolfe." I thought it was rude that Mr. Willis didn't acknowledge Mrs. Rolfe. "Oh yes, I thought see was just a person to show you your classes, I apologize." Ginny tilted her head and gazed at Mr. Willis even though she couldn't see him, it looked as though she was looking right at him.
"I accept your apology, Mr. Willis, but I'm pretty sure you forgot that I'm blind....didn't you?" Mr. Willis looked unnerved by Ginny's unseeing eyes staring him down, but responded politely. "Yes I truly did." Ginny smiled and shook her head smiling. I had to admit I thought she had to have guts saying that. "Okay, thank you for being honest with me, now where do I sit?"
I knew that I was going to catch a long rant from Mrs. Rolfe for my mouthing off to Mr.Willis, but hey, I was still going to judge, and mouth off. (There is just no helping that). I have known Mrs. Rolfe for a year and 5 days, I count the days, and I enjoyed her company. To keep it short, she is a personal advisor and was hired by my parents. Mrs. Rolfe has followed me ever since they hired her, and I didn't mind. In fact, it gave me someone to talk to.
Ever since the fire...
Never mind...
She was there when I lost my sight. Mom hired her to get to know me 'just in case,' which is my mother's code for, "You are going blind and need someone who can take care of you, and who you can trust other than me. I can't be there for you constantly." I was extremely close to her, and knew that she wasn't married and had no children.
I also knew that her favorite color was orange, her favorite animal was a chinchilla, and she loves to read. Mrs. Rolfe had taught me how to read and write braille at the academy, let me tell you it was some hard crap! Mrs. Rolfe even told me that she was only 28 years-old!
Being my own personal assistant, and best friend, she actually lives next door. Since I am blind she let me "see" her face by guiding my hand down her face and touch her hair. Mrs. Rolfe told me she has straight, blonde hair. She explained to me that she has blue eyes, like the sky. I really hope that one day that I will be able to look at the sky, and be able to see the luscious clouds again, just what if.......

I was so glad when the bell rang two hours later signaling the end of the school day. "Yesss!!" I whisper-yelled. I smiled and got out of my seat. "Ginny I will be driving you okay?" I nodded. "Okay." Mrs. Rolfe put her arm around mine ,since I didn't bring my cane. "Tomorrow you need to bring your cane." I groaned. "Fine...." Like I said before, I can't stand it it makes me feel weird, and makes me stand out. I suppose it would help me quite a bit, even if I looked out of place.
Mrs. Rolfe and I slowly made our way to the front of the school. "So how did you like your first day?" Mrs. Rolfe asked. I shrugged. "I guess it was.....interesting..." I could tell that she smiled. "That boy was very kind....what was his name?" I smiled a little. "His name is Alex, Alex Reid." I immediately knew when we got were outside because I heard the rush of cars, and bits of peoples conversations. I felt the gentle breeze of August. " Mrs. Rolfe do you ever think that I will be able to see again, if I get surgery?" I raised my eyebrows. "Ginny dear, I honestly think that that is possible." I smiled. "By the way I'm nodding right now.
"Sometimes people told me what their facial expressions were, such as; I'm rolling my eyes right now, I'm nodding, I'm shaking my head, I'm sticking my tongue out, and other things. I smiled. "Mrs. Rolfe do you think anyhting is possible?" She put her other hand on my shoulder. "When do I not?" I laughed a little. She helped me manuever through the parking lot, and into the passenger seat of her Toyota car. We spent the next fifteen minutes on our way home listening to the radio, and both singing along.
Alex's POV
I walk home from school everyday of school, even if it rains. What can I say, I love nature, and fresh air, it inspires me like nothing else. Today was no different, except my friend Luke was coming over to practice our trumpet duet for a band compitition. I had my mind somewhere else right now though, it was concentrating on the girl named Ginny. I was thinking of how she looked, and what she said. She had long beautiful hair that was bright ginger tied in a high tail, like a flame.
She had thin red lips that were perfect, and her eyes, they were gorgeous. Her eyes were misty, but they show brilliant green anyway. I wish that I asked her what classes she has. My mind is still drifting when I reached my house. I walked through the front door, and tossed my backpack onto the couch. "Hey Ma, I'm home!" I walked into the kitchen. "Hello Darling, how was your day?" My mother walked over to me and wrapped me in a tight hug.
"It was interesting, and Luke is coming over to practice with me." She let go and smiled. "Okay." I then go back into my room and get out my trumpet waiting for Luke.
Ginny's POV
We soon arrived at our house, as I was told that is, and felt around for the door handle. I found it successfully, and gently got out of the low car. Mrs. Rolfe came around to help me find my way into the house. I smiled at the sound of my older brother shuffling around the kitchen. "Hey Little Wolf, how was your first day?" Mrs. Rolfe led me to Jeff, and then she went to her small office room. I smiled as Jeff wrapped his arms around me.
"It was really cool!" I exclaimed as Jeff led me to the new couch. "That's great, did you meet anyone friend worthy?" I sat down next to him and nodded. "Yes, I think I have!"
