We begin our story with a man named Alfred F. Jones or more commonly known as the United States of America. but as we look upon him now as he briskly walks down the streets of England, we take notice that this not the America we are used to seeing.
(Americas POV)
Fat, stupid, the taunts and jeers of the other nations fly through my mind as i rapidly walked back to my hotel. 'Why?' I ask my self 'how did it end up like this?' 'I'm the United States of America for Christ sake I shouldn't be this way!' I'm shaken out of thoughts as someone grabs my shoulder. spinning around I see my younger brother Matthew Williams or Canada to the other nations.
"America are you OK? you looked about ready run out of the meeting just now." he looked over me worriedly as if he were my mother or something. "also why didn't you stop and wait for me, I was calling you?"
"Uh o-oh its nothing bro, I just have a mountain of work to do when I get home." 'Dammit' I cursed myself inwardly for stuttering like an idiot. 'idiot, that's another thing I get called daily' I thought. Canada gave me look as if to say he wasn't convinced but left it alone.
"Hey America did you here what i suggested?" Canada said with hope in his voice.
"Ha ha yeah man of coarse I did, getting to walk around the other capitals of the world will definitely help everyone understand each other better!" Canada smiled softly at his older brother, while he could be loud, obnoxious, and a little rough at times he could also be caring, gentle, and surprisingly thoughtful. However Canada's smile wavered for a brief second, 'how, how is it that he can just push past all those insults everyday?' he thought.
"Duuuuuuued, Heeeeeeelloooooo! earth to Canada!"
Canada jolted back slightly due to America's hand be directly in his face.
"Oh yes sorry about that what was it you were saying just now?""I was wondering which capital we were going to visit first?"
"Well since we're already in England we agreed to start here and than continue on to France and..." Canada's voice began to slowly fade out as America's thoughts began to spiral again. Only really half comprehending what was being said, after Canada had laid out the plan for his brother did they bid each other farewell. As America once again started to make his way to his hotel, he realized that when it came time for the nations to visit his capital would it be memorial day. A day that he always reserved as an off day. A side of him came out on that day, a side that he did not normally allow others to see.
"But" he thought "perhaps it's time show the world who I really am."
