"I don't need protection." I said through gritted teeth, clenching and unclenching my hands as I tried my best to control my anger.

"It's for your own good and it will only last until we get Franco into a high security containment facility." Mr Bosse reasoned. Franco was a dangerous arms dealer which we'd just captured last week and he'd already managed to escape. I had to admit that he was pretty clever. If only he used his talents for good...

"Bu-"

"Look, I know you're both the best at what you do and I mean why wouldn't you be? It's in your blood, but I promised your parents Abigail before they died that I would not let anything happen to you. I need you to do this, if not for me, then for your parents?" he pleaded.

"Please Abby, he's doing this for our own good. Plus I'll be there to! I'll make sure you never get bored!" Lilly grinned jumping up and down enjoying the idea of us getting to live on our own for a month or two without having to do any missions. Well, if you say it like that, it sounds awesome!

"Fine." I sighed allowing a small smile to grace my features.

"Great!" You leave Saturday giving you Sunday to rest before high school!" Lilly's dad said sighing in relief. Mr Bosse was a really nice man, after my parents' death, he took me in since they used to be best-friends. From then, he's been fulfilling the role of mum and dad for both Lilly and I.

My eyes widened eyes once I'd registered his statement.

"School?!"

"Well yes, you've gotta blend in." he answered bluntly and looked down at his desk sprawled with papers, motioning that our conversation was over.

"Why are you packing your spy suit?" Lilly asked as she stared at my ceiling.

"You never know when your gonna need it." I answered.

"And the gun?"

"You never know when your gonna need it." I repeated.

"The knife?"

"You never know when your gonna need it." I responded again.

"And let me guess, the smoke bomb-"

"You never know when your gonna need it." I interrupted causing Lilly to giggle.

"You do realise we're going to live in a safe house which means all the gadgets and stuff we'll need will already be there." Lilly pointed out as she sat up. "Well not actually need, but want."

"Yeah, but still, you never know when your gonna need them." I answered deciding to take everything back out despite my awesome argument. After zipping up my bag, I moved back to close my wardrobe only to feel something heavy weighing me down. I glanced down to see that the bag's zipper had eaten a part of my shirt. My eyes widened as the shirt began to give in to the heavy load, pulling away a part of my PJs with it.

I just stood there in shock as Lilly laughed at both my facial expression and top.

You know what? Forget this. I thought tiredly.

I just walked over to my bed, pushing Lilly to the side and grabbing the bouncy ball on my bedside table. I aimed at the light switch and flung the ball towards it causing it to turn the room into an abyss of darkness. I pushed myself into the covers and closed my eyes.

I felt Lilly on top of me causing my breathing to halt temporarily. God how can somebody so thin be so heavy? Now I understand how that chair she broke yesterday felt.
