Chapter 1
__________________________
It's the first day back at Violet Hill High School. The cheerleaders are beaming as the jocks escort them playfully to their first periods. Old friends compare schedules hoping to see each other often.
And new girl Meaghan Lancaster is alone. The chubby, nerdy, ponytail loving girl with the crooked smile and glasses. She never had fit it at school before, so she wasn't surprised no one had noticed her yet. She always had been that shy girl in class that even teachers didn't realize was there sometimes. She was the outcast of all outcasts. She had kept purity though and throughout all the loneliness never once had cut herself. But her shyness came in handy, where none of the popular people even noticed her enough to make fun of her.
Meaghan was walking around by herself when she bumped into someone

Niall's POV
"Oh I'm sorry. I guess I wasn't paying quite enough attention as to where I was going" a sweet voice said as I picked up my books. I began to stand up "no it was my faul-" Where did she go? I could have sworn she was just here....
I turned around looking for the person I had just bumped in to. I had never seen her before, such beautiful chocolate colored eyes... "Hello?" I called wondering if I had missed her.
*dinnng* Dang I'm tardy... Guess I better hurry to class, it's the first day and I've already ruined my record. I looked down at my schedule:

Ugh math first.... I know I'm only in ninth grade but "lucky me" I happen to be in accelerated math -.- So I'm in Algebra II, two years ahead of basic ninth grade math...
I wonder how many people are left this year... Last year it was around twenty five, about the size of an average class. But I know some of us failed our EOC and they had to retake Geometry. I on the other hand actually made a seventy three, so I passed.
"Ah! Room 312!" I said as I twisted the door knob to enter the room. "Oh hello, you must be Niall! I'm your teacher this year for Algebra II, Mrs. Lancaster." She said as she extended her arm to shake my hand.
I was shaking her hand when I noticed the same chocolate brown eyes on a girl. I stared looking at the girl who had crimson cheeks as she must've been embarrassed from knocking me over earlier. She has long-flowing brunette hair that's pulled back into a sleek ponytail. "Mr. Horan!" Mrs. Lancaster broke me from my stare. "Your seat is seat 3B, beside Ms. Hill over there" she said as I headed to my seat.
"What are the odds I would see you again today? You rushed off so quickly" I said playfully. Her cheeks turned red. I could tell my playfulness made her uncomfortable so I toned it down a bit. "Hi I'm Niall." I said as I extended my hand out for a greeting. "Hi... I'm Meaghan..." She said shyly as I shook her hand. "Wow you shake hands like a girl!" I said. Who says that? Why did I have to say THAT? She IS a girl?! I feel so stupid -.-
"Well... I AM a girl... I'd hope I didn't shake hands like a forty year old man..." She said sarcastically. I laughed which made her uncomfortable again. I could tell I was going to have to ease into getting to know her... But I already couldn't wait to know her. She was great.
"Okay class. So today we aren't working of course... As it is the first day of the school year!" Ms Lancaster said, "No, today we are going to get to know one another. I have a tennis ball we can pass around to change turns. Whoever you throw it to you get to ask that person a question! Lets begin class! Get in a circle beside the calculator cabinet!"

Meaghan's POV
Oh no! I have terrible hand-eye coordination.... I just know I'm gonna drop that tennis ball if someone actually DID throw it to me. But I guess I don't have anything to worry about because no one is gonna throw it to me anyway.
"Okay. I'll start. Caden, what's your favorite thing to do?" Mrs. Lancaster said as she tossed the ball to Caden. "Baseball" he said with a heavy country accent as he caught the ball.
"Uhm. Niall. Where are you originally from?" Caden asked already knowing the answer. "Well... As you already know I am from Ireland." The charming boy spoke. I didn't know he was Irish.... His eyes are so... Blue too...
"Heads up Meaghan!" He shouted as he threw the ball in my direction. "Oh!" I shouted as I caught the ball. I actually caught the ball!!! I'm so proud. But wait... What's his question? "Okay. What is something NO one in this room knows about you?" He asked with his cute accent.
"Well... My middle name I guess..." I said shyly. "Ah ah ah!" Mrs Lancaster said interrupting me. "I know you middle name Ms. Hill!" She said smirking. "Well, I am a dancer... But most people don't know that.. Because I don't really have a dancers body..." I can't believe I just said that... And in front of cute Irish guy!! Ugh. -.- "uhm yeah. Ten years of dance..." I said adding to the rest of my sentence, hoping to cover up the stupid remark I had said earlier...
"Wow that's cool!" Niall said. I could feel my stomach knotting up... I took my left foot and stood on top of my right one. Before my dad moved out, he used to say 'when you were a baby, I used to hold your feet and you'd calm down. Simple as that.' So whenever I get nervous I tend to try to put pressure on my feet, and it calms me down.
"Uhm..." I said as I looked around trying to choose who to toss the yellow ball to... Uhm. Krysten looks nice! "Uh... Krysten!" I said as I tossed the ball in her direction. She didn't catch it but no one cared. She had brown, fluffy hair, that reminded me if a poodle. "What's your favorite color?" I asked still shy... "Well I personally like the color purple, but The British flag is my favorite pattern!" Krysten said confidently.
The game continued until the bell rang and we had to attend our next class. As I was gathering my books, Krysten came up to my side. "Hi. I noticed you're new here!" She said, "I'd hate for you to get left out, because I know that's a horrible thing.. Can I see your schedule?" She asked. She began comparing our schedules and I could already tell Krysten was going to be my best friend. "Hey! We have every class together except for science!" She exclaimed.
Science was my fourth hour... I wonder who I'd sit by then.... I was nervous about that. But never mind that. I had to get to second period. Krysten led me there because she already knew her way around. She had visited the high school a lot, having many friends here due to band.
As we headed into History in Room 302 I noticed Niall sitting there. Why was he everywhere I turned?!
