She grit her teeth and sent the officer a glare, in fact he wasn't just giving her a ticket but he was her high school sweetheart at that. Pulling her jacket closer to her feeling the cool wind hit her face, she met his blue eyes.
"Next time don't be speeding."
Sending her a smirk he winked knowing she always looked cute when she had her nose scrunched and her bottom lip poked out. She was frustrated.
"Listen here, I wasn't speeding and you know that." Leann said knowing he was just doing this to annoy her like he always had.
"Leann, you were speeding." He said leaning close, wearing his stupid cowboy hat that always had her sneaking peeks at him.
His blue eyes met hers as he lowered his ray bans, he was the only cowboy here in Montana that wore raybans with his cowboy hat and could still look sexy as all get out.
The snow started to fall making her roll her window up with the handle of her old Chevy, she smirked seeing him glare through the window.
"Leann." He said through gritted teeth, she heard him clearly but put her hand to her ear pretending she couldn't understand him.
"What? Can't.hear.you."She said smirking at him through the glass, his blue eyes on her making her squirm abit knowing he was still so attractive after all these years.
"Kathryn Leanna Cooper." He opened the door and glared at her as he rested his weight against the truck, and glared at her.
"As the Sheriff you listen to me young lady" He said sternly, "You will obey the law. Or I'll go get one of your Brothers and have them spank you in front of the whole county." She glared watching his eyes trail over her face.
Everyone called her Leann around town and she grew up with people using her middle as a nickname. Which it was Leanna but this her ding dong always called her Leann. Oh the memories it brought to her heart when he'd call her Leann.
"Fine I will pay the stupid ticket!" She snatched the ticket from his hands and watched him smirk, she dug out her wallet and fingered out a few twenties.
Turning the ticket out to read it her mouth dropped open but she quickly closed it not wanting him to laugh at her more.
----
Will you go on a date with me?
"Is this how you pick up all the girls?" She said and flicked the ticket at him and glared, not giving in knowing her heart sure did react a different way but she wasn't going to give in so quickly.
"Come on Leann. Let's go eat at the Elk Diner and then let's hitch the horses to the sleigh and go ride for a while." He said and leaned closer into the truck, meeting her eyes. "It won't hurt anything." He said as the snow fell softly around them.
"Clay," She stopped noticing she used his old nickname and grit her teeth, "Clayton, I'll have to think on it." She said grabbing her cup of coffee from the cup holder and took a sip, offering him some. He drunk some down and turned his blue eyes on her "C'me on" He said smirking. "You know you want too just as bad I want to, this will be good for us." He smiled and she looked off not wanting to eye his beautiful features.
Gritting her teeth and swallowing her stupid pride she finally answered, "Fine."
Moving a piece of thick brown hair from her face and pulled it behind her ear, she wondered if this was going to be a good idea or not.
