Harry.
"Liv! We've got to hurry now! It's quite a long drive." I shouted from the car.
"I'm coming!" Olivia shouted back while closing the door of her parent's house.
Today was the day we decided to finally go outside and enjoy the warm, sunny weather. What better way to do so than going to the beach? Although I'm not the slightest bit too fond of having to sit under the hot, blazing sun or having sand stuck in between my toes, I'd do it for her.
"Okay, got everything we need?" She asked as she took her seat in the car.
I gave her a small smirk. "No?" I stated more like a question.
She glared at me, her gorgeous blue eyes trying to scare me.
"I made a whole list, Harry. Oh god, please tell me you atleast got some of the items!" She had always been one to over prepare when it came to going on long drives. Or any drive of that matter.
"Calm down. I've got enough gas in the car tank, I've got my phone, and my beautiful girl sitting next to me. That's all I need." I said with a smile.
"But what about the food? And water? And the flashlights?" She began to panic. I know this because in times of her panicking, I've noticed that her accent slightly thickened with each syllable that escaped her lips.
"We can get those on the way there, calm down baby." I tried to say in a calm, soothing tone.
"I'm trying to but being with you and your unprepared self gives me anxiety."
"The feeling is mutual, baby." I said as I reached for her hand across the console and interlocked our fingers together.
"You're an absolute dork, Harry." She said as soon as she noticed that the Star Wars theme song was playing on the car radio. "I can't believe you downloaded the whole Star Wars soundtrack."
........
The drive so far consisted of us fighting and arguing over the dumbest things. It was always so simple for the two of us. We loved to banter. She was always one to easily have a comeback, she wasn't weak. I've always loved that about her. Her rude comments and harsh sarcasm has got to be some of my favourite things about her. Apart from everything else.
We were now at Tesco since Olivia wouldn't stop panicking the entire drive so far. She promised we wouldn't take too long and yet here we are, a half hour later, deciding on which juice to buy.
"Should I get the medium sized bottle of juice or the large?" She asked me.
"Depends on which flavour."
"Guava."
"Ew. A small one then." I cringed, remembering the seeds of that damn fruit.
"What is up with you and guavas? What have they ever done to you?" She tried to ask in a loud, formal way but failed miserably when she bursted out in uncontrollable laughter.
"It's-it's been a problem for me since the age of 8." I began, holding every part of me to not burst out laughing. "I've been-scared of guavas. I'm-guavaphobic. Yeah, I once ate it and choked on all the seeds." I tried saying in a sad, child-like voice.
Just then, a lady passing by with her baby looked at the two of us in utter confusion. We bursted out into fits of laughter.
"We're crazy."
......
"Are we there yet?" Olivia complained, yet again, for the thousandth time since leaving Tesco.
"Umm....maybe a few more minutes." I said as I checked the time.
"My ass is starting to hurt. We should just go swimming in my pool instead of driving all the way to Brighton next time." She complained.
"We could but we have my cousin's wedding to attend at Brighton too tomorrow remember? And you were the one who suggested to-"
"Yeah." She breathed out. I watched the expression on her face and noticed that she wasn't so happy or excited about it.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked. "Do you not want to go to Gina's wedding? I thought you liked attending weddings."
"I do, it's just that-" She let out a long sigh. "I'm not sure how your whole family would-I don't know, I just-" She slouched and hid her face behind her hands.
"You're nervous to meet my grandparents and aunts and uncles? Is that it?" I asked, slightly amused. She was never one to be nervous or scared to meet new people.
She hummed in response.
"Baby...there's no need to worry at all. They're gonna love you. They'll fucking love you, I just know it." I assured.
"They'll fucking love me? I think they'll only love me, you do the f-"
"OLIVIA!" I shouted in disbelief and watched as our laughters filled the car. "You are horrible."
"As are you! Oh, do you not remember what you said to my parents the first time you met them?" She asked jokingly.
I knew exactly what she was referring to.
"Harry, it's so nice to finally meet you." Her mom greeted. "We've heard alot of things about you."
"All good things I hope." I said with a smile.
"Olivia mentioned that you play guitar, is that true?" Her dad asked.
"Yeah, I do. I'm quite good with my fingers." I said.
Her mom choked on her drink for a moment before clearing her throat. "That's lovely." She attempted to say in a polite manner despite my perverted words.
"You might wanna take some medicine. Clear your throat-"
"Harry, that's enough." Olivia interrupted.
I laughed at the memory, hoping that I'd live to make more with her.
