Amira's POV

I wake up to the smell of morning dew and a sweet smell of pancakes. I get up and look around my surrounding that I've been in since I was such a little girl. I then realize the window had been open letting in a chilly breeze so I get up to close it. In the process, I wake up one of my best friends, my sister. "Sorry." I tell her. "No worries, I was awake anyway." She tells me.

Now, she really was not my actual sister. We were two different colors. But we've been there for each other since we've met at this place that only seems nice once a year. "When do you think we should go down there?" She asked. "We should go now, you know how greedy all those other kids are." I answer her.

We throw on some presentable clothes and agree we'll take showers after breakfast. Before we walk out the door, she and I here a faint growl. So we rush to the window I had closed earlier and wiped off the fog. And there we stood in astonishment. There were two giant mammals in the woods fighting each other.

And when we say giant, we meant giant. Like 6 ft tall, and 4 ft wide, and they appeared to be wolves. Now, I'm no animal expert, but it seems as if they weren't fighting for territory, yet play fighting. They must have known each other. I slowly reached to grab my camera, but I knocked down an empty cup in the process. They stopped, stared at our exact window, which caused us to jump back, and they ran off into the misty woods located near the orphanage. I never understood why we were in the middle of nowhere, in the woods, where most murders seemed to happen, but oh well.

After that, we head down the spiral stairs to be stopped several times by children younger than us bumping into us on their way up and down. We had finally reached the kitchen and met our rivals. "Look who it is, it's the girls who can never be adopted because they can't be torn apart. What are you guys, lesbians?"The team leader Ashley said, while her crew snickered behind her. "I bet your mom was." My sister said back. Ashley became shocked, "My mom died..." "What does that have to do with anything?" She said and shrug her shoulders. "Yeah, you know where to kiss it, Assley." I told her and we walked away, bumping shoulders on purpose.

We took some plates, silverware, cups, and napkins before setting them down on the tables, then sitting down ourselves. "How was your sleep, ladies?" Ms. Stacey asked us as she served us our breakfast of pancakes, eggs and fruit. "It was really nice Ms.Stacey," I told her, "The sleeping pills really helped." My sister finished for me. "That was nice to hear Amira and Madelyn."

10 minutes later...

Giving out a hearty burp and pushing our plates away, we thanked Ms. Stacey for the meal before she told us to get dressed for guest. It must be for adoption, which we never get. With full bellies, Madelyn and I waddled up the stairs and shared the best bathroom in the house which had 2 showers, 2 sinks, 2 full-body mirrors, and a toilet. We gathered our clothes for which we'd were for today and anything else we'd need in that matter. "Amira.." Madelyn called for me. "Yes?" "Bring the Ibuprofen and the pads, we'll need them today..." She told me. "We synced?" I ask. "Yep. Mine's just started and the calendar marks your for today." Maddy called out. "Okay." I reached for the top shelf behind the mirror to grab the pills and our feminine products.

20 minutes later...

All dressed and protected..... We head downstairs to where we sit and act like the best of friends to the people we hate and to the people we don't know. I had on black jogging pants and so did Maddy. I had on a white sweatshirt with the black words YOU on it while Madelyn had on a black sweatshirt with a red oval with with words inside of it that spelled out TUBE. I had tan, warm, fuzzy, boots and Maddy had on black boots that looked exactly like mine. In the pockets of our pants, we had our pills and some extra sanitary products. Soon, the doorbell rung and the room grew silent. Ms. Stacey went to open the door for the adoptive parents. In came some people who looked very familiar to us. Once we soon got a better look at their faces, we couldn't believe what we saw. It was the one and only Jim and Tanya Chapman....
