Long time ago,The town of Abuyog was not yet discovered by the Spaniards.It was full of bees and beehives near it shores.Then the Spaniards came,they were approached by the natives and the asked the name of the place "Cual es el nombre de este lugar."the natives answered"Ahhhh buyog."referring to the bees.And that’s how Abuyog got its name after an insect called "buyog".Until this day Abuyog has still many bees.
