My twin sister

I could call her my twin sister, not lost, but now found,
A new member of my family, and she's here to stay,
She's drowning me out with her talking, too loud,
I've asked her politely, but she won't go away.

She's constantly there, by my shoulder all day,
Whispering sour nothings into my ear,
When I'm happy, she tells me that I'm not okay,
She pokes words in my eyes and shows me my fears.

She's angry, my sister, gets mad all the time,
When something goes wrong she makes out I'm to blame,
Always making me anxious, when I know it's all fine,
And whatever she feels, I know I feel the same.

Her malice and sharpness rubs off on me too,
In turn, I take it out on those that I need,
She's wearing me out, I don't know what to do,
Why won't she just move aside, and let me take the lead?

I call her my twin sister, as she's bound to me forever,
I've tried to be rid of her, but we're cursed to be together.
