When I got home my David was waiting for me. He was sitting on the edge of my bed with his arms crossed. "Why didn't you tell me about the other day," he asked with an irritated voice. "I knew you would be jealous. Even though there's no reason you should be," I explained. He sighed. "He's coming between us! You can't see that," he shouted. "Don't you yell at m-" I was cut off by my mom peeping around my door with a concerned look on her face. "I uh, David and I were just.." I saw the pain her face because she saw no one in the room except for her psycho daughter. "That boy is here to see you," she informed me.

I entered the living room to see real David looking at the way too many pictures of me on the wall. He jumped when he saw me. He scratched the back of his head. "I was just looking at these uh, pictures." I raised an eyebrow. "You left your sweater at the ice cream shop, and I followed you home to give it to you," he said as he held out my old ratty sweater. "Thanks," I mumbled as I took the piece of clothing. I heard my David groan from behind me. "Be nice," I whispered in his direction. I looked back to real David to see his face was contorted with confusion, fear, and pity. I chuckled awkwardly.

Real David's POV

"Is he in here?" She nodded and gestured directly behind her. "Um, hi," I greeted the empty space that she looked at with a bright smile. "Don't be like that," she scolded the air. We sat down in her open living room. I tried to take a seat next to her, but she stopped me. "Oh, David is sitting here," she said as she threw her hands up to stop me. I apologized and sat on the couch facing her, well them.

"So, what's he like," I asked trying to break the tension. "Well, he looks like you, but he knows everything about me. He pretty much stays in the house, so I don't look weird talking to him in public. When I was younger he went everywhere with me. My parents thought he was just an imaginary friend I would grow out of, but when I turned thirteen and he was still around they took me to a doctor. Once I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, my family started to fall apart. They couldn't have anymore children cause they had to take care of me, so my dad bailed. My mom and I were on our own."

"That's tough."

Gwynn's POV

My David finally got frustrated and stormed out to my room. "You can sit over here if you want," I said to real David. "Did he leave?" I nodded. He moved over to sit beside me. "Listen, I know we barely know each other, but I really want to help you get better. Any way I can. I feel like need to," he said then laughed. "I didn't realize how cheesy that sounded, god. I'm sorry," he apologized. "But here's my number, and we should definitely hang out. I'm free anytime," he added.

My cheeks turned pink. I'd never have a boy give me his number or ask me to hang out. I looked down at my hands with a smile.
