~BACKSTORY~
Backstory:
Orphaned at 5 and sent to an orphanage soon after, Reine was alone most of her life. She was greatful to have a house over her head and food to eat every night, however she wished she had a family. At age 11, a girl named Aida came to the orphanage. About a month after Reine and Aida were inseparable. At this particular orphanage, once you're 13 years old you can leave without an adult. Reine and Aida often went hiking and had picnics on the local mountain: Mt. Ebott.
One day while going on a normal hike, Aida thought that they should keep exploring. The two got lost. They headed to the top of the mountain to see if the view was better from up there. At the top of the mountain, Aida tripped and Reine saved her from falling into a large, never ending hole at the top of the hill. Reine ended up in the Underground. 2 1/2 years later, when she is 16 years of age, she discovers a book about the rest of the Underground - beyond The Ruins. Reine, a curious teenager, decides to explore the corridor underneath her adoptive mother's house. This is where her story begins.
