Butch woke to the smell of dried blood and dirt. The sun was bright and hot. He heard the sound of a horse coming. He shut his eyes hoping that the person would notice him. He was the body collector. He got off the horse and stepped towards Butch and lifted his head from his hair. Butch didn't breath as the man was making sure he was dead. The man walked back to his horse and grabbed something. As he walked back to Butch, he bent down and Butch fought. He kicked him in the face and grabbed his gun and fired two shots. Butch could barely stand and when he assessed his wounds he found a large stick stuck in his shoulder. He attempted to pull it out but couldn't. He searched the body of the gravedigger for whiskey to no avail and then he looked through the bodies on the back of the horse. He had the body of the general and Butch knew that he would have some. He searched and found a flask. He pushed the bodies off and began to flee.
