Author's note:

This is fanfiction based on a Glee pairing between Jeff Sterling and Nick Duval. They are not canon, or in other words, they aren't a real couple, on or off the show. Nothing in this fanfiction is based off the way their characters are portrayed or what the actual actors are like - Actually, the only accurate details about the two would probably be their appearances. Other than that, everything else is fictional, until Glee announces otherwise.

•Chapter one | Say hi•

Moving house is always such an interesting experience: Patience is definitely required when taking on this task. Otherwise, the stress would overtake your mental and physical stability. From packing all your belongings within a certain timespan to encountering the problem of how to wisely use your spending money when decorating the new place.

Luckily, Jeff needn't worry about distressing himself over such things, considering he was moving to Dalton Academy - A school which provided readily furnished dormitories. If he hadn't gotten a scholarship, he never would have gotten into this high class school. Some would say that Dalton was the crème de la crème of all private boys schools, with its impressive sports, musical and academic facilities, its outstanding examination rates, and not to mention, it had a magnificent male choir - The Dalton Academy Warblers.

If anything, the bleach blonde was most excited about auditioning for a spot in the choir group, knowing that he was more than qualified. Jeff definitely had a voice on him: This was no surprise, really, since he sang ever since he could remember. Despite his immense vocal abilities, taking up music as a career was discouraged by both his father and mother because they argued that music never solves anything.

But now that he was parted from his strict parents, he could finally pursue this dream of his.

Jeff handled his heavy bags with everything but care as he sauntered unsteadily off towards his dorm room: Room TL176. Dropping all his bags to his sides, the sizeable teen rummaged through his jean pockets to find the keycard that he was given during the 'starters seminar' by the principal.

He hadn't met any of the students yet. Though, this wasn't very surprising since he came in during midday, probably when all the others were in class.

As he slowly slid the keycard through the keypad by the door, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of impression he could possibly make at this new school. Would he end up being the quiet kid that no one hung out with, or would he end up being a horrendous socialite that never had time for all his friends? He hoped he'd be somewhere between those two possibilities. Stepping into the dorm room, the blonde glanced around with a curious expression painted over his face. It was so pristine and well-intact, almost as if no one had inhabited the area. But he knew that this couldn't be the case, because he previously overheard the principal talking to his parents about all boys having room mates, to save space. Whoever his room mate was, they certainly left the impression that they wanted the place completely spotless at all times.

Touring through the rooms like a lost puppy, Jeff finally found his way to the bedroom. There were two twin beds in the room, one on either side of the room. He was sure that his room mate would have already established where he was going to sleep, so he chose to wait for the unknown male to come back to the dorm before deciding where he wanted to sleep himself.

His thoughts were cut off once he heard the main door to their dorm room creaking open.

"Oh? Bags?" Jeff heard the voice coming from the living room, "Hey, is anyone there?" An evident tone of both panic and fear was etched into the voice of the person.

Letting an awkward little silence linger for a moment, Jeff finally chose to speak up after a few moments, his voice meek and quiet. "Uh.. Yeah. Jeff Sterling, your new room mate." He stood up and waddled toward the bedroom door, peaking his head through the gap so that he was within the sight of this unknown person.

A brunette was stood cluelessly in the middle of the living room, brows furrowing as he heaved out what seemed like a sigh of relief. "Oh, thank god. I thought someone was stealing something or planning on murdering me." After rubbing his head against his palm, the shorter male finally came to his senses and stepped toward the new boy.

"I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself." The brunette stuck his hand out in front of him, waiting for the blonde to return his acquainting gesture, "I'm Nicholas Duval, but you can call me Nick. Welcome to Dalton Academy." With a slight pause, Jeff hesitated before taking Nick's hand into his own, a slight smile forming itself on the nervous newbie's lips.

"Nice to meet you, Nick. May I say, you did pretty well in keeping the place clean.." Jeff started, eyes wandering around the room now, Nick's gaze soon following.

Once the two had parted from their firm handshake, they both headed for the couch, one sitting on either end. "So, Jeff, tell me about yourself. Where did you come from, what's your backstory, why do you bleach your hair?" A blatantly teasing tone edged slowly onto his voice throughout his little line of speech, amused when seeing Jeff glancing at him with a slightly lost gaze. "Well?" Nick prompted.

With a slight sigh, the young Sterling slumped back into the couch, tracing his fingertips over the hemming of his jean pockets. "Uh.. I came into Dalton from Colorado, I scored a scholarship to get into this school because I heard you had an amazing choir group - the Warblers, I think - and I bleach my hair because I think it looks better lighter." The blonde gaze trained at his wrecked combat boots as he waited for a response from Nick, feeling the other male's glance burning through his shoulder.

"Sounds cool." Said Nick with a gentle shrug, offering Jeff a slight nudge. "I should probably head back out, then. I had a free period, but now I have to make my way to the other side of campus for trigonometry. I'm guessing you're not your lessons starting today? I guess it makes sense, since there isn't really a point in doing half your lessons in a day."

Nick babbled on and on about his classes and about Jeff, until he managed to grab his rucksack from the floor. "Anyway, I'll see you later, I guess. It was great meeting you, Jeff." And with that, the brunette finally left through the door to head off to his next class, leaving the blonde just sat by the couch.

"Yup. Nice meeting you," Jeff nodded to himself, brows furrowing. Why did he have a feeling that this was the start of a beautiful, yet disturbing, friendship?
