Call me what you want, I am not a spoiled brat. I mean just because my parent's make a lot of money doesn't mean anything. I hate how that defines me as a person. I honestly wish no one looked into my family but into me instead. I honestly hate it.

I'm Inez. I'm a senior at Beverly Hills High School. Yeah, it's a pain going here. Everyone is always in other people's business. There's never a time where you have privacy. Most people that go here have parents that make big money. Those are the people that everyone wants to be friend with. I guess that includes me. But I don't go along with the whole popularity thing. I do whatever I have to do at school and that's about it. I have two friend whom I confide in and that's about as good as it gets. Oh one other thing, Dione is the top queen bee around here. And apparently to the whole school, we are enemies. I've never done anything to here that I'm aware of. So I don't think of us as enemies, but as people who just don't get along. We were friends back in middle school but she got boobs and I got braces. It's crazy how fast it ended.

"Hey are you going to Liam's party tonight?" Kayla, my trustworthy friend, asked. "Um, I haven't been formally invited so I think I'll pass." I said shutting my locker and waiting for them to close theirs. "What do you mean? No one ever gets formally invited." Nora, my other trustworthy friend, said. "Well I mean I'm not one to just show up at some guys house just because he's throwing a party." I scoffed. "Are you guys going?" I asked as they shut their lockers and we walked down the hallway. "Well if you're not going thenI don't want to go." Kayla said while Nora nodded agreeing. "Okay, we've talked about this. I don't care if you guys have your own plans! Even if I was formally invited I have plans already so you two go to the party and have fun. Just send me pictures." I said smiling. "Are you sure?" "Yeah we don't want to go without you." They both said. "Guys, just go! I have things todo. Just promise you'll have fun!" I said. "Okay, thanks Z." They said walking to their class. "Hey babe. Coming to my party tonight?" Liam said pushing me to the wall. "Sorry, I kind of have plans already..." I said pushing him away and kept walking. "Come on sweet cheeks." He said slapping my ass. I turned around and pushed him to the wall. "Do that again and I swear I'll cut your dick off." I said looking at him dead in the eye. And with that I walked into my classroom.

The thing with Liam is that we dated freshman year, but then Miss Dione came in and decided Liam was way hot and took him away. Honestly I could not have cared less. Boys come and go, of course I liked Liam but I didn't love him. I let it go and they've been together ever since. Well, until about a month ago when Liam couldn't take her shit anymore. Now she's single and she doesn't like it at all. I mean she blows up whenever Liam even looks at another girl. But after Liam dated Dione, he's caught up in the whole image thing. He's changed.

"What do you think you're doing?" Dione said. "I'm kind of walking to my desk..." I said walking around her but she stopped me dead in my tracks. "Did I just see you talking to Liam?" She asked again. "Um, I mean if you're questioning it, I think you should get your vision checked." I said sitting down in my desk. She huffed in aggravation and sat down in her seat across the room. Class went by real quick but before I could even get out Dione confronted me.. again. "Stay the hell away from hi. You got it?!" She yelled walking away. Well then.

So I'm kind of a straight A student with AP classes and everything. I ended up taking courses over the summer and I only had two more classes to receive full credits to graduate. So I have 1st period French IV and then 5th period AP Calculus. So I have the rest of the day off until about 1. "Hey Z! Wait up." Someone yelled behind me. I looked back and saw a guy running to me. "Hello." I said waving. "Hi, I'm Zach. Um You might not know me.." "Zach. You're the tennis team's boy captain." I said interrupting him. "Well I guess you do know who I am. Anyways I wanted to talk to you about some things." He said. "Um okay, I'm on my way to get some coffee. Do you have a free period?" I asked walking to my car. "Yeah?" He said confused. "Well hop in. We could talk over coffee on me." I said unlocking the car. I got in and so did he. "Honestly, I thought that getting to talk to you would be more difficult." He said putting on his seatbelt. "Why's that?" I asked looking behind me as I pull out of the parking space. "Well because you're Inez. Daughter of.." "Don't relate me to my parents. That's the worst thing you could do. I'm me because of me. Not because of them." I said cutting him off. "Got it." He said shutting up. He didn't talk until we got to the coffee shop. "I'll take the white chocolate mocha." I said and looked at Zach. "Oh, um, I'll have the same thing she's having." He said. The cashier nodded and I gave her money. "Thank you." He said raising his cup to me. "Anytime. So what did you want to talk about?" I asked sitting at a table for two. "Well, last weekend I was in the neighborhood and decided to hit against the wall and I thought this girl hitting looked familiar and I got a closer look and it was you." He said. "Okay?" I said not really knowing where this was going. "How long have you been playing tennis?" He asked. "Um, it's been about 5 months. My mom hired a tennis instructor for us and has made me play for the last 5 months. It kind of helps me relieve some stress and anger." I said honestly. I'm usually a very honest person, like I don't give a crap so might as well tell the whole truth right? "Wait, so you've never picked up a racquet until 5 months ago?" He asked. "Um yeah.." I said still confused. "We really need some girls on the team. That's why I'm here to talk to you about joining." He said. "Like for reals?" I asked surprised. "Yeah! You were amazing. Better than out top varsity girl who has been playing for years. It's incredible." He said wide eyed. "Um sure I'll do it I guess." I said shrugging. "Are you serious?" He said so excitedly. "Why not? Um, here's my number just text me the details on what I need and where I need to be and I'll be there." I said writing my number on the napkin. "Wow, okay sounds good. I'm gonna head out but thanks for the coffee." He said leaving the shop." I nodded and went back to drinking my coffee. After finishing it, I got up and walked over to the trashcan to throw it away.
