Jack woke up at the sound of a truck pulling up and the sun rays hitting his face. He groggily looked down outside of his window and saw a girl with wild red hair, her back facing him.'Oh someone finally moved into that big house next to ours' Jack thought and went back to sleep.

Merida set the last box in the floor with a sigh. She felt a hand land on her left shoulder. She looked at her right to see her mother's smiling face, she couldn't help but smile too. She hugged her mother tightly then let go.
"I hope he won't find us here" Merida whispered softly, her mother only nodded and they both gave a sigh of relief.
Merida and her Mum, Elinor, had moved in to Berk in America to finally get away from the man who gave her and her mother hell for the past 16 years.
Elinor held her daughter's hand giving it light squeeze, Merida looked into her mother with her big blue eyes.
"Since we've moved into a new house, let's just move on from the past and start a new life. Forget everything about him" Elinor said. Merida only nodded.
" Okay! I'll just cook dinner and maybe you can look around and pick your room. Here's the keys" Elinor said and handed Merida five room keys, Merida took them and ran upstairs excitedly.
Elinor shook her head and chuckled. She went to one of the boxes that was labeled 'Kitchen Stuff' and took out the things she needed.
'I'll make sure to be strong and protect Merida. Even if it's the last thing I do. I'll make sure no one will hurt my precious girl.' Elinor thought while cooking her daughter's favorite food, steak.

Merida opened the first room she saw which was on her right side, she inserted one key and twisted it. She opened the room. It had a beautiful cream painted walls, a small window, a large four poster bed with white curtains, and a small fireplace. The room was fairly large but not that large.
Merida scrunched up her nose.
"Nope, too large. This could be the Master's bedroom" Merida muttered.
She opened the other three rooms and it didn't seem to satisfy her. It was either too small, dark, or cold.
She sighed and stood in front of the last door from the farthest right. She inserted the remaining key and twisted it. She opened it and a bright sunlight greeted her face, she had to squint her eyes a little. When she adjusted to the light she got a good look on the room. The walls were painted dark blue with white spirals wallpaper, a comfy bed in the middle, a white wooden cabinet next to her, a mint green bedside drawer, a small bookshelf, the floor was carpeted with light blue color, and a window.
"This is perfect! This is it!" Merida said, the room wasn't large or small, just right.
"Merida?! Dinner's ready!" Elinor shouted. Merida quickly ran downstairs and sat across from her mother at their small dining table.
When Merida saw what their food is, she wolfed down her food, Elinor looked at her weirdly but laughed.
"Merida dear, I forgot to tell you that tomorrow will be your first day of school and according to the Principal, your books, locker number and schedule will be given tomorrow. Dear, please don't beat kids at your new school okay? We're not in Scotland anymore so don't expect them to treat you the way your former classmates treat you back home" Elinor reprimanded.
Merida nodded and they continued to chat while eating.
When they were done, Merida and her mother started to arrange their stuff putting them into their proper places. Then they retired to their own bedrooms. Before Merida could sleep she prayed first and looked outside her window staring at the stars.
She was daydreaming for a couple of minutes and sighed. She got onto her bed and got to sleep.
