I pass the loaf of bread to the next woman in line. She smiles, and nods her head. I move forward towards the table. There's some butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter. I grab a knife and dip it into the peanut butter. It is smooth, and fluffy. I smile at the fact, and spread it all over my bread.
I take a bite of the bread. It's creamy in my mouth. "Chalen!" I hear Alex yell. I turn around, peanut butter smeared all over my face. "Ya?" I ask, with my mouth full. Alex laughs, and slaps his hand to his forehead. "You like the dinner?" He jokes. I swallow and say, " Ya I think so. It wasn't as good as last nights." I make a smirk at the end. Alex rolls his eyes. " You wait in the room. I'll bring more up." He says in a polite voice and gestures towards the stairs. I nod my head slowly, shocked that he said he will bring more bread to me, and turn towards the stairs.
Alex is one of the workers here. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes. He's like the kindest person that I've ever met. He's always there when I need him.

It feels good to leave that room of people. I sometimes want to be alone, in my own room. But is hard when you're in an orphanage.
Alex knocks on my door. I jump up from my daydream and say, "Oh, come in Alex!" Alex opens the door. He has a loaf of bread on a platter. "This is for Chalen Flower!" He grins and hands me the plate. "Oh...ummm...." I stutter. "I really don't know what to say." I say. "Just a thank you would be all." He winks, and leaves the room.
I take the bread and a knife from the platter. I smile when I see peanut butter as the side, and I dip my fork into it, spread it all over my bread, and take a bite.
I sort of feel guilty for having more bread than any of the other orphans. Alex says that I'm one of the special ones, and I deserve it, but it doesn't make me feel any better. I just smile after the fact and just take the bread.
But today I feel loving, and caring. I get up from my bed and put on my shoes. I walk towards my mirror in the corner of my room. My brown wavy hair, goes down to the middle of my stomach. Everyone has said it's beautiful. I smile wide at them, and take their compliment.
I turn for the door, and head out into the hall of people.
