Making my way through the thick, dense folliage of the Amazon rainforest I cursed once more as I looked down at the map in my hand. I was lost again. I shook my head , what was great auntie Helena thinking when she left me this map?
I still remember the day I got the call telling me she had passed away, leaving me, her only great niece with her fortune and some instructions along with a map which would supposedly lead me to some"great treasure"; leading me now to this moment. Sighing once again I closed the map and started to look for the "Stoney Monkey with Golden eyes" as the map indicates.
Drip
Ugh, not this again.
Looking up, a drop of water got into my eye. Groaning, I took off searching for the biggest tree where to take shelter under.
Suddenly I came to an abrupt halt, finding markings on a tree. They were very peculiar, and, upon further inspection I could decipher that this was the only tree with these strange markings on it... it was instructing me where the monkey was!.
Trying to cover myself from the rain with my coat, I watched the water run down the tree bark, cleansing off the dirt and revealing more knife-made symbols up until the rainforest floor, making me acknowledge the tile I was stepping on. It had an arrow on it pointing to the North. I wonder: how didn't I notice it before?
Just as I was going to head off towards the direction the arrow pointed to I felt the hairs on my neck prickle and a putrid smell of death and filth filled my nostrils. Seconds later I heard a voice by my ear, one I thought I'd never have to again; "Miss me?" they dragged slowly. I gasped, my body going into shock and filling with dread. No, not her, she couldn't have found me. "You should have known by now Darling: you can't escape me" She smirked at me "TAKE HER TO THESHIP!" I tried to run but her goons were much faster than me. She laughed: "Isn't she cute? And to say she's all mine" Someone picked me up and threw me over their shoulder.
Great aunt Helena, what mess did you throw me into now?
